PETITION TO MINISTER OF POLICE & PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE SERVICE DELIVERY AT PUTFONTEIN POLICE STATION

We the residents of Putfontein, Lillyvale, Shangrila, Gordon's View, Cilvale areas, hereby, petition the Minister of Police and the Portfolio Committee for Safety and Security to investigate the service delivery provided by the Putfontein Police Station.

The residents of Putfontein, Lilyvale, Shangrila, Gordon's view, Cilvale are facing the following challenges at the Police Station:

1. Police officers refuse to open cases with the excuse that they can't investigate without vehicles
2. Police officers refuse to go to properties where a crime had occurred, explanation when they come there the suspects will gone and where must they find them
3. Residents have to pay for fingerprint teams through the station otherwise they won't perform any forensic work.
4. Police officers lock the doors at 22h00 because they are tired, residents are forced to return the following day.
5. Police officers do not attend to a call out because they either don't have vehicles or no fuel.
6. Police officers also don't do rape or abuse cases because they don't have sufficient staff.
7. Residents take cable thieves to the station, and police officers let them ago without opening a case
8. Police officers refuse to give IR no's for anything and refuse to make entries in the OB.
