Student priced veggie lunch for Fazer | petition sent forward

2019-01-08 08:53:01

2,60 € vegan/vegetarian student lunch option to Fazer Food Co restaurant in Aalto Väre campus petition has been sent to the restaurant manager of A Bloc, customer manager of Otaniemi restaurants, as well as sustainability executive and brand executive of Fazer Food Co on 2.1.2019. By then the petition had 350 signatures. Thank you!

Below a summary of the response of Senior manager of Concession Key accounts in Fazer, Sari Räsänen:
- Wicked Rabbit veggie buffet has been also provided for a KELA compensated price, but with a special price, and this is the way it's going to be.
- Fazer A Bloc has received a large number of feedback about the lack of veggie lunch for 2,60€. This has already been discussed in official Aalto level with a several parties. As a result there will be a veggie lunch option for 2,60€ in the future, and the change will be executed during January 2019.

As Fazer A Bloc is now revising their lunch menus, in response to Räsänen's message it was stressed the veggie lunch option be not only meatless, but vegan.

Although a change had apparently already started through official, top-down channels, the same message coming from multiple directions, through various channels, is powerful. What the official negotiations with Fazer had been lacking, was a clear view of the extent of the dissatisfaction. Therefore the number of signatures in this petition is of great importance in stressing the meaning of this issue.

Today 8.1.2019 there are 381 signatures in the petition. Thank you everyone!!
