Thank you for signing the petition started in October to Keep the Johnson Park Animal Haven OPEN! Your signature made an impact.

This announcement is to ask for your support again. If you can, please use the link below to communicate to the County Commissioners your continued support of keeping the Animal Haven open. Please share your love for the animals, your memories, as well as appreciation to the commissioners for the job they do and their commitment to the Middlesex County residents.

  • Remind them that there are so many people that love the Haven and enjoy it daily
  • As your county commissioners, their decisions should be based on what county residents want (All they hear are negative remarks from those that want it closed and those people that don't live in Middlesex)
  • You can use this address (copy and paste into web brower): https://www.middlesexcountynj.gov/Home/Components/FormBuilder/FormBuilder/388c902067774227a720012575ed2aa4/
  • If anyone is available to attend the commissioners meeting, please try to! We need to remind them that the LOCAL people love this park and do not want the animals removed!
    • The next meeting is FEBRUARY 3, 2022 at 7:00pm at 75 Bayard Street New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
    • At the end of the meeting, they open it up to public comment where you can show support for keeping the Haven open.

The previous meetings are recorded. You can listen back to hear how much negativity is being said. Positive feedback can go a long way!

If you are not aware of what has transpired most recently,  a brief summary is below.

  • The commissioners decided to halt the closing and hire a professional to assess the haven and flood potential. The assessment is due to start this year (2022).
  • In response, the animal activists no longer talk about flooding concerns. Instead, they make fake claims that the animals have broken limbs, are depressed, etc., attack the workers and their families verbally and via email, and contacted the sanctuaries with promises of animals coming to them.
  • They managed to get 3 animals removed to a sanctuary that is not reputable, has no experience with the animals they took, and has bad mouthed Johnson Park Haven and its workers publicly.
  • The activists attend the bi-weekly commissioners meetings and continue to make false claims of animal neglect to put pressure on commissioners. This pressure did result in the removal of the 3 animals. The activists say "they are not stopping until all of the animals are gone".
  • The people attending the commissioners meetings are not residents of Middlesex County, and therefore your voice should be heard and counted!
