Save Schaumburg Wetlands

In 2018 the village of Schaumburg entered into a contract with Experior Transportation for them to purchase the land near Rodenburg and Irving park road next the Schaumburg Metra Station. The plan is to build a 140,000 square foot corporate headquarters, warehouse space and fueling station for trucks. This means that the wetlands will be modified which will upset the natural ecosystem, kill and force wildlife out of the wetlands and destroy the natural flow of the water drainage system that co

Petition Governor McMaster to remove Sheila Baccus from Darlington City Council

Councilwoman Shelia Baccus has failed to uphold the special trust and confidence vested in her by the citizens of Darlington City, AND has failed to demonstrate fundamental qualities of leadership in that leaders are to 'set the example' and 'take responsibility for their actions'. The events surrounding councilwoman Baccus' interaction with Officer Paul Bryant on 6/17/20 and her actions at the Darlington County Council meeting on 7/21/20 unambiguously demonstrate the following points of grave c

Don't make an Environmental Disaster Worse, Demand a Full Environmental Impact Report!

We, residents of the City of Long Beach, demand that our elected officials represent and protect us by requiring a full Environmental Impact Report (EIR) at 3701 Pacific Place Project (the former Golf Learning Center southwest of Crown Point, across from Los Cerritos Park and Elementary School). We object to the City prematurely allowing the developer to grade the site and move 50,000 tons of soil, given that this was formerly a toxic waste dumpsite. The soil has been shown to contain lead and a

PUT MHSN v. MHSS THANKSGIVING DAY GAME BACK ON THE SCHEDULE

The Middletown Public Schools system via the Athletic Director has stated that they will not be putting the Thanksgiving Day game back on the schedule after multiple emails and promises to do everything they can to preserve the tradition.  Deja Vu... We cannot predict the restrictions and cancel a tradition in November just like MTPS 2020 graduation should not have been cancelled a month before they walked.  Regardless of social distancing restrictions the THANKSGIVING DAY game can be played lik

Keep the Rebels name

We, as students, alumni and community members, feel a change of mascot away from the Rebels is unnecessary. As a public institution dedicated to guiding young students into adulthood, Maryville High School has offered athletics as an extracurricular activity that furthers and fosters the growth of the body, as well as the mind, of not just the students competing, but the student body as a whole.  Our athletics program, for as long as memory serves, has always proudly been known as the “Rebels.”

Petition to UHSAA to End COVID-19 Related restrictions on Extracurricular Activities

We have been informed by educators in the Washington School District that members of the Utah Department of Health and Governor Cox’s administration have told them to continue testing for COVID-19 to determine eligibility for all extracurricular activities throughout the 2021-2022 school year. The reason given for this requirement is that Utah will not be able to continue to receive federal emergency monies unless we continue to test our children. In the one-year period beginning with the first
