Calling for protection of all residents against the very high levels of crime in Kempton Park

We the residents of Ward 15 urgently petition the Minister of Policing and the Portfolio Committee safety and security to ensure the protection of all residents against the very high levels of crime in Kempton Park. Despite residents taking every precaution to protect their property they are continuously the victims of violent crime, armed robberies, hijacking and even murder. We also urgently request that satellite SAPS stations be set up in strategic areas. We also call on the South African Police Service (SAPS), to ensure that we are safe again, through: Increased visible policing, particularly in crime hot spots, more effective operations to reduce crime, improve crime intelligence to target crime areas (given the proximity or OR Tambo International Airports). The reintroduction of crime intelligence units to help curb and stop crime. Better public participation (working relationships with the community). As residents, we no longer feel safe in Kempton Park. It is our constitutional right and the responsibility of the police to ensure that we are safe in our neighborhoods.
