Change the end semester

The end semester examination for second and third year students starts on 5th of June and it is impossible to follow the guidelines mentioned in the mail sent to the students.The college should remember the fact that we are still in a pandemic situation and not go so hard on the students. We have just received the instructions for our proctored end semester exams and we have certain queries regarding that.

1) It is mentioned that exam will be conducted for 3 hrs and 30 mins(excluding the time for scanning and submission) and it is worth noting that most of the students use a daily pack of 1.5 GB Jio data. So most of them will definitely experience data exhaustion issues in middle of exams.

2) Even if the above problem can be overcome by using additional data pack or using WiFi, we have to take note that power cuts are often nowadays in our city, especially in the time of 9am. So if a student faces power cut he/she would face both data issue (for a WiFi user) and PC shutdown issue. It is worth noting that not all people have power backup facilities

3) The most important among these is network instability and system crashes. Most of us use an mediocre pc/laptop/device, which, when used upon for 3hrs consecutively on and *video call* type of usage like Google meet, has a Higher chance of crashing.

4) It is not feasible that we can turn on our cell phone camera for 3 hours because it will be out of charge within 1 hour 2 hours, since majority of us are using cell phone we are facing this.

5) Maintaining 3 metre distance which means about 3.5 feet from the camera it is very difficult to achieve, if we are using an headphone it will not reach such distance

6) The exam starts at 9 AM and goes on till 1:30 PM which is four and a half hour and the students might have to use restrooms or have other emergencies in between. It's simply not possible to sit at a place for four and a half hours as it is too long and not feasible.

Many students do not have steady access to the internet and unreliable internet connection can cause a huge stress among the students. Not to forget, we are in the middle of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC and many people have been worsely affected and few are still recovering. We students request the college to understand our problems and take the necessary action as soon as possible. We are not asking for solutions to these problems, as it is impossible to solve these problems like powercut, network issues and data shortage. Please consider the situation if the students and kindly do the needed.
