Demand for changes in fees and other things at college

We the students of New Horizon College Of Commerce,Airoli are signing this petition against the college. We have been asked to pay fees of Rs. 32,000/- which is unacceptable to us. Our reasons signing this petition are as follows:

1. The fees that college is asking us to pay is Rs. 32,000/- which includes air conditioner charges, electricity and water charges, semester examination fees and tuition fees,development and infrastructure fees. Since due to lockdown we all are not physically there in the college and taking any kind of services provided we are only responsible to pay tuition fees. 

2. Canteen is a basic thing which has to be at an educational institute which we are provided with. The canteen that we get has poor food quality. We are supposed to have a hygienic and proper food quality canteen especially when there is no food court, restaurant, cafe, dhaba etc in near by area. 

3. The IV of 2020 was a total flop and complete injustice to us. The promises that were made to us were not fulfilled. Henceforth, refund was demanded by students or a trip of 1-2 days at free of cost. Now since trip is not possible then the refund must be done. 

4. Last year i.e., 2019 the fees was Rs. 32,000/- in which we were promised to give books by college which was did not happen. We had to buy books ourselves inspite of paying to the college. The Rs. 3,000/- that was included in fees must be refunded. 

5. Last year i.e., 2020 when a group of students had taken stand for the same they were being said that college is providing them proper education, hygienic toilets and campus drive which we agree on. But on behalf of only these 3 points charging Rs. 32,000/- of fees is unfair.  

6.The above points 4&5 is about refund. If colleges is not agreeing to refund the amount then they shall deduct the amount from the fees. The money that was to be invested per head for a free trip by college (if planned any trip) or else was about to refund then that amount shall be deducted and Rs. 3,000/- of books shall be refunded or else shall be deducted again from the fees. 

7.As mentioned in point 1 , the college charges for air conditioner facility, electricity and water services , development and infrastrucure etc that they provide us which is completely acceptable. Since ,we will be attending online classes then the charges that are included in the fees so even those charges shall be deducted.

8.Students and Parents have agreed on paying a minimum amount of Rs. 20,000/- . This fees is decided on the behalf of amount deduction and financial crisis that every family is facing today. 

9. Also about the campus drive, only 20% of them get placement as many go for Post Graduation and Startup so on that behalf fees cannot be charged. As not everyone gets placement and only because of 20% of students rest all have to pay a certain amount. But this year employment rate is very low and there are a absolutely very less chances to getting employment.

10. While getting admission, every batch is at its beginning at First Year admission are told that Human Resource and Finance is provided by the college but in Second Year admission we are being forced to opt marketing. 

11. Maximum number of FY 2018-2019 batch have not received fees receipt yet . No student of SY 2019-2020 batch have received fees receipt yet. 

12. Inspite of taking so much fees other activities,fest,farewell and freshers party do not take place as it is supposed to be. Along with studies other activities are also important but even there we get minimum budget and we cannot decide what we want to do according to us. These things are done by students themselves but even here we cannot do so. 

13. There are a lot of students who belong from weaker section and may be would not even afford Rs. 20,000/- so for those students,college shall allow them to attend lectures and give exams and allow them to pay Rs. 20,000/- of fees before taking LC and Degree from college. 

14. Also students who can pay fees at once can pay and others who cannot shall be allowed to pay in installments.

15.According to AICTE, students need not pay fees untill lockdown is lifted. 

We students and our parents want college to understand our problems and take decision in our favor so that we begin with our Online Classes from 15th July,2020 itself.
