Desigual’s Debt To Its Workers

Dear Sir, Madam, Miss, Mrs., Mr., Dr.

Dear Desigual customer,

A couple of months ago the Desigual brand hired over 200 girls all across the world through an agency called Matching models to host and model the launch of there 2014 summer collection in various stores across the world. The agreement with most of the girls was to do the job as well as pay for our own transport to and from the allocated stores, with the understanding that the brand would refund the girls as well as getting the payment for the work done.

The agreement Desigual has with Matching Models is that they pay within 60 days + 10 days after the completion of the events and that according to their agreement they have not seen this through.

Four months on and millions of emails tears and phone calls later, the brand refuses to pay the girls for four days of grueling 9 to 10 hour shifts. Since many of girls were students and well couldn’t exactly afford lawyers, the girls have now taken it into there own hands and are starting a world wide campaign against Desigual and brands alike that clearly break the law and evidently take advantage of students and other workers.

The  reason for this petition is to ask the brand to pay the wages that are rightly owed to the girls. We demand that the Desigual brand and the Agency Matching models allocate funds to the girls without any further delays. As students most of us are leaving hand to mouth and we have reached a desperate point. Please support our cause and help us fight unfair brand practices.
