Downtown Port Elgin Parking on Goderich St.

Since, summer 2013 the number of on-street parking spaces along the downtown core in Port Elgin has been significantly reduced.

The following has occurred:

Approximately 8 parking spaces have been removed
• No signage to indicate public parking lots
• New signs limiting parking times in the downtown core
• Increase of ticketing in this area
• There have been a number of new miss accidents with both pedestrians and vehicles in the ‘new’ intersection (Goderich & Green St.)
• There is no longer adequate space for delivery vehicles (between Green & Gustavus)

As a result these changes are inconveniencing customers (especially those with young children or the elderly) and do not encourage a customer friendly downtown for residents and visitors to shop locally.
