I completely agree. Boys will be Boys. But the staff shouldn't be looking at younger girls that way. Its just downright creepy.

I think everyone should be able to express themselves with clothing or whatever they feel...thank you

Because dress codes are outdated and teach girls that men are superior and that as women they should hide their bodies. This is unacceptable.

I'm so happy that someone is finally taking a stand to our very immature dress code. Like real talk here, are we that offended by our own anatomy to were we can't wear a shirt that shows are shoulders? Like this school obviously isn't teaching us to be adults, it's teaching us to hold back our self expression and judge people based on their clothing. It's not our fault some boys can't control themselves, and by the way they are only given that idea because our schools stress it so much that if your shoulder is showing then every person points it out. It's sick, that I would get SENT HOME for wearing a shirt that shows my stomach when my arms are stretched above my head.....when during school with my arms be raised this high? Definitely not out of joy, school and dress code suck. Totally ruined it for me, it literally makes me even more distracted and not able to learn. So school board, if you want us to learn let us wear what we feel comfortable in and shows our expression.

School dress code is too strict and girls are trying to go be educated but they have to worry about being covered head to toe.

I signed this petition because I feel that schools care more attention about what people are wearing then our education. The dress codes are to strict we like in the sunshine state with weather being in high 80's everyday and with these dress codes we are only allowed to wear jeans and it is hard to find outfits in dress codes. They think that if our shoulder is showing that is distracting we all have a shoulder nothing new there.

Our children are at an age where they are learning to be themselves express themselves and how they choose to dress, with the guidance of their parents, not the school, is a part of that. I believe at the heart of the dress code is sexism & inequality all based on male reaction to females teaching the girls since the age of 11/12 way back in middle school to be ashamed of themselves or blame themselves for a boys (don't get me started on grown men!!) reaction to dressing comfortably on a 95 degree day.

I believe the current dress code policy is unfair toward female students, and undermines male students. Our society already expresses a disparity in values between men and women. These policies perpetuate these cycles. Let's teach children to be decent adults by being decent adults, and extend more education and less regulation.
