British *governments*. Please make the distinction. These governments are not representative of their people. Look at what the U.S. government is doing around the world, and within its own borders, much to the horror of its people.

Agenda 21 ~ who wants that!!?

If the truth can be told so as to be understood, it will be believed..

Everyone deserves to know the truth of what really happened to the people of Ireland!

I'm of English decent and I knew about this since I can remember, was actually surprised to hear it wasn't well known. Between the forced starvation of the people and the slavery they were forced into at home as well as in the Americas for many years history has failed the people badly.

If there is no reckoning at least let there be truth.

It is vital that no blanket statement is composed that infers that Britain caused the events of 1845-48 in Ireland. Such a statement would infer that the ordinary person in the street within England, Scotland and Wales had a hand in the deaths of 1 million + Irish when this did not happen. Those that caused the Irish Genocide are the Government Officials in West Minster in London, their Viceroys in Ireland and the British armed forces and Merchant Navy operators at the time. Let the Truth survive.

#154: - I admire you for honesty to clarify your English ancestry and I believe 99.9 % of Irish people like myself would be in agreement.
What happened in Ireland in 1845-48 wasnt caused by the English or British people but by the Government of England at the time.
There can be no justification in the removal of food and food sources from a people. Therein lies the crime. The perpetrators at the time have it on their shoulders.
The truth is crucial here for none of us gain anything by living a lie.

May I on behalf of the Admins of this site assure you that there is no reason to accuse the ordinary citizen of Britain for the sins of their politicians. Many were just as badly looked down upon. Daniel O'Connell made it clear where the fault lay as he pleaded for help in Westminster. He told them in no uncertain terms that, if was up to the ordinary people's generosity, the Irish problem would be solved . He went on to say that unfortunately it was the generosity of the Parliament that was needed. The common man will never be accused of the crime by this administration. Take care and thank you for signing.  Joe.

The true facts have been disguised from the world. This was deliberate mass murder on a level unseen in prior history. Before any forgiveness can occur, the British government must admit its guilt.

An advert for the British armed forces on the same page as this petition is in the most disgustingly poor taste. Whoever decided it was appropriate should be truly ashamed of themselves.

I wish you all the beat with this. But I think the people who didn't believe before, will still not believe to-day. I mean the people of N.Ieeland and Britain, I think we know why. Elsewhere in almost all of the rest of the World, the innocent have been touched by Englan'd's greed and her wish to conquer!

I was lucky enough to have a great history teacher at school, He give us his personal opinion of the genocide that took place in Ireland and i took it from there to do my own research and its sickening to hear what happened to our people back then. I really like the work you guys are doing to help educate those who still are unaware of what took place in the 1800s
