Having been a second home owner in the village for 30 years I know many other owners, who are all shocked by the possibility of losing the Isenau ski area. The village could end up like Les Mosses once a negative impression is given of the future commitment of the authorities to maintain services. I feel that many existing second home owners would consider looking elsewhere for their holiday home, which would cost the village hundreds of thousands of Francs per year if they left. The reality is that although Diablerets is a most beautiful place it is essentially a ski resort and to take the backward step of reducing the ski area, when most other resorts are increasing theirs, would send a signal that the village is in decline and has no future, which would obviously be the case.
