Greenway Snowmobile Use

This petition is to allow use of the greenway during the winter season to snowmobilers.

Currently us snowmobilers ride the local fields, side roads, lakes, ditches etc... We do not have a choice other than to ride in those places as we do not have a trail system.

Allowing us to use the greenway would be a much safer means of travel. There would be no objects covered by snow, such as culverts, open water and a  lot of other unsafe hazards. Ever since snowmobiling started local accidents have occurred and in the past few years a few deaths and serious injuries have occurred riding on our local fields, side roads, lakes, ditches etc... Our snowmobiles will not harm the greenway with a sufficient amount of snow.

A few hours up the road in London ON, the OFSC trail system starts, extending all the way up to the northern tips on Ontario. These trails are 50km/h marked with stop signs, slow signs and safety signs. The OFSC charges a couple hundred dollars for a trail permit which gives you access to the trails all winter long.

For around here just having  access of the greenway would be great.  Charging $25 a winter to ride the trails would be a good benefit to the townships as there are a lot of snowmobilers in this area. Potentially a trail groomer could be purchased and be maintained with the profits of the Greenway trail permit.

If you are in agreeance to allow use of the greenway during the winter season to snowmobilers please sign this petition
