Investigation into buildings and structures by the City of Ekurhuleni as well as dwellings operating as guesthouses and communal compounds.

We are requesting for an in depth investigation by the city of Ekurhuleni into the legality of residential properties within the Edleen Proper neighbourhood (EPRA) that have been converted into commercial compounds and guesthouses.

We are requesting for written confirmation and approval documents from council on these operations. This would include the necessary approval plans for buildings and structures, the appropriate health and safety certificates as well as the appropriate licencing to operate such an establishment including liquor / trading licences. Currently these dwellings are accommodating an undisclosed number of guests and in many a case are in contravene to the laws of the country with indecent exposure,and drinking in public to name but a few.
