How much does it take to be civil?

Having been traumatized for a while now, I have finally decided to speak up. Speak up against some not so civil people, who have been the cause of my trauma ever since the day I grew self aware.

I live in a house in Bhowanipore, with my parents and my grandmother. However, certain unscrupulous, uncivilized and potentially dangerous people have since occupied a portion of the house, even though all rights to the building lie with us.

As you can see in the video, their choice of language bestowed on me, a school student who's not even an adult, would put civility to shame. I've been threatened, not once, not twice, but innumerable times. Needless to say that they care little for the mental health of people, and perhaps they indeed choose to exert a traumatic effect on us to achieve their means by coercion. However, they do not stop at hurling abuses at my school, my family (without concern about my aged grandmother, who has a heart condition). They body shame and threaten me, a seventeen year old minor, with death and rape. They have even gone to the point of threatening to hook an electrical line to a metallic gate to kill us. These would be considered a criminal offence under a variety of sections, but the police seem to have no inclination to act, and certainly their attitude bolsters these inhuman creatures. We try to keep hope, but with every passing day, we are losing faith in humanity. The worst part of it is that even their children, roughly the same age as myself, take an active part in the verbal assaults, as captured in the video.

So, this is what I, Yubasana Kapas, Gokhale Memorial Girls' school, go through every day. This is what lies behind that facade of cheer and vibrance. This is what lies behind the Champion of the Champions of TTIS Challenge. I have always kept my voice down, and have never spoken up about this, but the time has come to remind the world that this is the call of the hour—the last chance to save humanity. These inhumane, barbaric creatures have stolen my fundamental right to positive mental health. Today it's me. Tomorrow it might be you. Enough is Enough.
