I as a matric 2021 candidate go against the POPIA's decision of MATRIC results no longer being received by candidates via SMS. We as matriculants are already panicking, stressing, overthinking as we approach the release date of matric results, and to add on top of everything we do not need to face the trauma of going to school to get our results. It is already a bad idea to discuss matric results between candidates themselves as it could add pressure and the feeling of failure on top of us. Receiving results as school is going to add to the trauma and depression some already have because honestly seeing people excited about how well they did why you think of the F you got will break an individual, some will even end up at hospitals or in trauma for days because of anxiety attacks. The conclusion of matric results not being revealed on newspapers we understand, but this one of banning the SMS feels more like retribution to us matrics.

WE AS MATRICS SAY "IT IS OUR RESULTS AND WE DESERVE TO DECIDE ON WHAT IS BEST FOR US".
