Ollies Pizza Parlour - Post-Covid Outdoor Dining Grant in Brunswick 3039

When Ollie’s Pizza Parlour began serving the Brunswick community their delicious pies on July 4th of this year, we were open for diners for two weeks before having to shut our doors to the public when the second lockdown was announced. Since then, our pizzas have been available for pick up & delivery Thursday to Saturday and have received great reviews, due to the care our chefs have taken perfecting the art of the pizza.

After what seems like a lifetime, Ollies is looking forward to swinging the doors back open to the Brunswick community to serve hot, fresh pizzas to diners at our venue, after the lockdown. Due to COVID safety restrictions which greatly reduce the amount of diners allowed inside venues, we are applying to the Moreland City Council and VCLGR to extend our outdoor dining area in order to be able to serve more patrons and contribute to the re-invigoration of Sydney Road as the cultural food hub of Melbourne that it once was famous for.

In line with the Victorian Government’s ‘kickstart Victoria’ scheme, which is encouraging al fresco dining across the state, Ollies extension application will involve us turning the three carpark spaces adjacent to Ollie’s on Union Street into a seated dining area with planter boxes & a small garden facade. We believe this extension will not only benefit Ollies and our customers alike but will greatly improve the aesthetic beauty of Union Street and in conjunction with Cioa Mama’s similar application, will create a family friendly, cultural dining hub - Brunsick’s own Little Italy.

All design and construction is in conjunction with Moreland City Council’s ‘Parklets’ program, which is specifically designed for the Victorian Governement’s al fresco dining scheme.

For more information and a great visual representation on our outdoor area design, please visit www.parklets.com.au.

Ollies’ opening hours will be 5-11pm Thursday to Saturday with an idea of possibly opening earlier for lunch during the summer months, in the future.

For our application to be successful, we are looking for support from our neighbours and our local community members, such as yourself. It would be fantastic if you could lend a signature to this petition as approval and support of Ollies’ application to Moreland City Council.

We look forward to meeting and serving our neighbours and the Brunswick community fresh, delicious pizza for many more years to come.
