Personal Training

This is a petition that calls for more regulation and consistency between personal trainers.
Right now, the fitness industry is in complete disarray. There are countless different ways to train, countless different philosophies behind our training and countless different ideas and strategies for losing weight and building muscle.

The fact is: no one can agree and that means no one knows where to start.
What this also means, is that if you go and find a personal trainer, you have no way of knowing whether the information they’re teaching you is correct. Some trainers mig ht come from a CrossFit background and push you hard, with little knowledge regarding correct squatting or deadlifting technique. Some trainers might recommend myofascial release – a concept that many others will tell you is misguided.

One personal trainer might help you get your dream body and be in the best health of your life. Another might ruin your back and cause you to gain more weight.

The point is: we need a more uniform grading and categorizing system so we can know which trainers are which. We need to know their precise experience (how many days was that CrossFit course?) and their chosen school of fitness.
