P E T I T I O N

regarding the termination of Dr. Ewa Majewska contract

We, the students of the Faculty of "Artes Liberales" of the University of Warsaw and our Friends, oppose the decision of the Faculty authorities terminate Dr. Majewska's contract and we demand the extension of the cooperation between the Department and Dr. Ewa Majewska for the following years.

The decision of the Faculty authorities to terminate Dr. Majewska's contract was received with sadness and disbelief. Dr. Ewa Majewska is not only an extraordinary lecturer, but also a real mentor who always supports our intellectual exploration. Her courses reformulate our view of the surrounding reality, make us discover unknown areas of science and inspire us to continuous development. Dr. Ewa Majewska contributes to the education and upbringing of the entire generation of Polish intellectuals born after 1989, living in Poland in the 21st century.

Dr. Ewa Majewska has achieved excellent results so far not only in teaching, but also in her research. Doubtlessly she will continue to be exceptional in the future. Dr. Ewa Majewska is not only a unique lecturer, but also an activist for women's rights, LGBTQ persons and other marginalised groups of society. The presence of such a person in our Department contributes to creating an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance for diversity.

Few people are able to lecture and discuss the philosophy of the 21st century, as well as critical theories of culture or feminism as skilfully and interestingly as Dr. Ewa Majewska. Her departure from our Department would be an enormous loss for us. We demand that the Faculty authorities take our position into account and extend the contract with our remarkable lecturer.
