Push Hill Road Resurfacing

Monty Grider, McIntosh County Commissioner District #2, Eufaula, Oklahoma

To Whom It May Concern: The residents of Push Hill, Sandy Bass Bay 1, Sandy Bass Bay 2, Sandy Bass Bay 3, Sandy Bass Bay 4, Green Briar, Belle Star Forest, Bar Harbor, Sunset Shores, Patriot Point, and Standing Rock request, via this petition, that Push Hill Road be resurfaced.  Patriot Point, as well as Standing Rock, are rapidly expanding communities with well over 400 new homes expected in the next few years, which will only increase the amount of traffic and the issues we currently have concerning the safety of our road leading into these communities and boat ramp.

Push Hill Road is in serious disrepair because of the high volume of daily traffic, as well as the extra load from large trucks, RVs, boats, weekend lake traffic, and many years of neglect.  Push Hill Road is too narrow, often has standing water, and has numerous large potholes that are causing damage to vehicles, making it dangerous to get to and from our homes and boat ramp.  At least one fatality accident has occurred in recent years on this road.

It is our understanding that McIntosh County has applied for a Lake Access Grant to upgrade Push Hill Road from Texanna Road to the Sandy Bass Bay Boat Ramp.  Resurfacing Push Hill Road will provide a safer conduit for all the residents who use this road daily.  It will also attract future residents looking to make their home in the beautiful Lake Eufaula area and fulfill the needs outlined in the grant request.  We urge the approval of such stated grant for the safety of our community and all who travel this road.
