Request for the City of Ekurhuleni’s Real Estate Department to demolish the burned building near Brackendowns Police Station

We, the residents of Brackendowns and Brackenhurst, Ward 38 in the City of Ekurhuleni hereby request the Real Estate Department as the custodian of all council-owned property to demolish the burned down building near the Brackendowns Police Station.

As far back as 2019, the bus terminus, near the Brackendowns Police Station, which was used by police reservists had burned down. Since then, efforts to restore or demolish the building have not yielded the desired results.  

With the building being an eye-sore, potentially being the reason that properties in the area being devalued, and being a safety risk, it is best that the building be demolished.  

We trust that the Real Estate Department, will assist by attending to this request urgently as it has been three years since the building has been burned down.
