SC School Board Intervention to maintain a safe learning environment for Pelion Sc Schools

I am writing this petition as a concerned parent of 2 children in the Lexington 1 school district.  My children attend the elementary and middle school of Pelion Sc.   My hope for this petition is to get someones attention from the school board and for something to be done about the enviroment our kids are trying to get an education in. Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment is important for students’ well-being and quality of education.   Something has got to change.  These schools are filled with excessive violence, obscene language/profanity, and kids as young as 13 smoking tobacco and marijauna on school property.   The administration at these schools are not doing anything to remedy this ongoing problem.  Teachers are turning a blind eye to things in class that should warrant suspension from school.  Even more concerning is the bullying and fighting that is taking place and no consequences are being given or it's just a warning.  These issues should be met with a zero tolerance.  Im not so naive to think that we can end all fights in school, they are kids and it's going to happen.  But when your child is scared to use the restroom because he's been threatened, pushed into the wall, and choked, there's a serious problem.  We even had to pull one out of school and continue with homeschooling because the threats and his anxiety was just getting out of control. Countless times my children and my wife have met with teachers, prinicipals, and counselors only to be told that they're hands are tied and they're trying to make all the students aware of the bullying.  Really?!  I think they're all very aware.  My son has sent me countless videos of people in class cussing the teacher out, being disresctful, bullying other students in the same room with the teacher! A lot of kid's grades are slipping due to the fact that they are not being given a fair oppurtunity to learn.  Also videos of kids beating up others are being recorded in school and uploaded to social media. The bullying and mental abuse dosent stop anymore when you leave school.  It's following kids home on FB, TikTok, and other platforms.  And people wonder why kids snap and take guns or knives to school. They've had enough and the people who we entrust our children's education and safety to on a daily basis are not stepping in.  DO YOUR JOB!  When i was a student,  you didnt disrespect your teachers, smoke or fight in school without getting in trouble.  What happened?  Get rid of these trouble makers, add additional resource officers, do something to get these schools under control.  Please, I ask for your signature and support in fiding a solution to better these schools.  A child should not have to be scared to attend school.
