Securing a sexual harassment advisor at the Grenfell Campus of the Memorial University of Newfoundland

The Grenfell Campus of the Memorial University of Newfoundland shares it's sexual harassment policy with the MUN Campus. However, there is no sexual harassment advisor stationed at the Grenfell Campus and they are located approximately seven hundred kilometres away. Since we share this advisor with MUN this means that the advisor has to be flown to our Campus on a case to case basis. This is completely unacceptable. All of Memorial University students should have access to this service and support in times of crisis regardless of the Campus they are attending. Grenfell student are currently at a disadvantage as they have to wait longer periods of time before they can speak with a sexual harassment advisor in person. Grenfell students may also feel that the importance of their situation is often questioned when it comes to determining whether it is necessary for the advisor to travel to our Campus. All forms of sexual harassment are equally important and need to be dealt with. This is why it is crucial to have a sexual harassment advisor located on our campus.
