A right of way has existed for many years. I believe that access to the arch should not be restricted. Locals and visitors have a right to go and see this beautiful arch.

(Fanad, 2017-06-21)

Lets save this historical landmark for all visitors

(Boltin, 2017-06-21)

(Fanad, 2017-06-21)

#89

I grew up in the area and is always been a right of way, there has even been brown tourist signs highlighting the attraction

(Wigan, 2017-06-21)

#90

We have lived here all our lives and it shouldn't be allowed that someone who doesn't even live here can come in and close an official right of way like this!

(Fanad, 2017-06-21)

#94

I'm a local who lives overseas. The arch is not only a Fanad, but an Irish tourist attraction. It's like blocking access to Ayres Rock. Don't be ridiculous.

(Melbourne, 2017-06-21)

#95

I'm a native of Fanad and the Great Arch is one of my favourite places to visit when I get home. The right of way should be retained for locals and visitors as it's a place of outstanding beauty.

(Sligo, 2017-06-21)

I grew up in Fanad: my family built a home in Pollaid, and I want the Pollaid Arch to be available for future generations to enjoy, just as I have enjoyed it's beauty and splendor. This is a public place, and should not be owned by and individual. This site brings tourists to the community and is pet of the natural beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way.

(Washington D.C., 2017-06-21)

#102

Its such a lovely place

(Cavan, 2017-06-21)

#103

It's a right of way for all to use

(Letterkenny , 2017-06-21)

#104

There has to be free access to a tourist attraction to bring visitors to the area

(Perth , 2017-06-21)

#107

The Arch should be free for all to visit as it always has been.

(Fanad, 2017-06-21)

#109

The heritage council should provide safe access to such a natural wonder.

(Co Donegal, 2017-06-21)

#111

This is an area that has always been open to the public and one of my favourite areas to go. This is unacceptable that they are closing it of to the public .

(Letterkenny , 2017-06-21)

#115

We and our family have enjoyed this walk so many times over the years and would be devastated if we were stopped from doing it.

(belfast, 2017-06-21)

#117

Its the publics right to have access to this beautiful arch

(Derru, 2017-06-21)

#118

I'm signing because my mother all of her family is from Kerrykeel and we come to Donegal (me and my 7 siblings and families) every year and the Great Arch is somewhere we love to go. It is part of the mystical sense of Fanad that all should experience.

(Fareham, 2017-06-21)

#120

Signing because I disapprove of interfering in rights of way

(Letterkenny , 2017-06-21)

#123

The awesome beauty of nature at its best should not be denied to others this does not belong to the few! For us that come from Fanad this is as much part of our identity as our beautiful beaches!

(Manchester , 2017-06-21)

Ba cheart go mbeadh ceart slí ag an pobal dul chomh fada len Áirse Mhór agus an trá ag Polláid i nGaeltacht Fhánada.

(Gaeltacht Fhánada, 2017-06-21)

#133

What an amazing place. It's not fair that you can't go visit it anymore. We want visitors to come visit not turn them away.

(Portsalon , 2017-06-21)

#134

I have walked this route many times to see this beautiful site and should be left for everyone to enjoy

(Staffordshire , 2017-06-21)

#137

This is a natural beauty spot on the Wild Atlantic Way, ridiculous access had been restricted. Is this even legal? Do landowners not need to provide/maintain access to a beach/shoreline? What a way to welcome people & encourage people to explore this beautiful county.

(Glasgow, 2017-06-21)

#140

Great Arch was my childhood playground

(Doaghbeg, 2017-06-21)

#143

It is a public right of way. It should not be blocked ..

(Buncrana Co. Donegal, 2017-06-21)

#145

Disgraceful that people like myself originally from the area can no longer access such a wonderful spot when home on holidays.

(Glasgow, 2017-06-21)

#146

My family are from Fanad and have relatives in Doaghbeg, this is a feature of natural beauty which belongs to nobody! It is part of the historical landscape which should be accessible by all.

(Letterkenny, 2017-06-21)

#148

As a native of the Fanad area, I believe the public have a right to access our areas of natural beauty. I think this area should be promoted and tourism enxouraged

(Carrick on Shannon, 2017-06-21)

#149

No right of way should be obstructed by a private party. Despite the tourist attraction now being disrupted, it is a danger to close off access to the shoreline and sea. Many groups kayak to the great arch and if any got into difficulties they would have no chance of being accessed.
Not only is it illegal it is immoral.

(Raphoe , 2017-06-21)

#153

There was always a right of way there and public always had access and it should remain like that.

(Fanad, 2017-06-21)

#155

Because I have a holiday home in the area and its beauty should be accessible to everyone

(Torrevieja , 2017-06-21)

(Naas, 2017-06-21)

I visit this spot every time I visit the area since I was a child. It belongs to the community and a great tourist destination

(Wirral, 2017-06-21)

#172

(letterkenny, 2017-06-22)

(Letterkenny, 2017-06-22)

#194

This is a right of way to the people of Fanad, Donegal, and alll our visitors , and no had the right to stop the people from access to a natural beautiful place

(Ramelton , 2017-06-22)

#195

There is a public right of way to the great arch which I have used all my life , it's totally wrong that someone try and close it. It won't be closed .

(Donegal , 2017-06-22)

#199

This place has always been special to my father's family and then to us. They played there as children and a visit 'home' to us is not complete going to the Arch.

(Cork , 2017-06-22)

#200

I've been enjoying the walk down to Pollaid great Arch since I was a child and now I have children they have come
To know it as a wonderful
Place that is part of their history. My mum is from fanad and I have a sister, uncle aunt and cousins there . The shore and its natural wonders are the property of humankind and we must preserve this precious right from selfish insular people whose actions go against the spirit of community and veneration of the land. Shameful to block access. Keep the path to The Great Arch open!
