ADD AN AGE BRACKET ALERT TO THE AMBER ALERT PROGRAM

Comments

#1206

We feel like MORE could have been done, should be done, we ANY CHILD goes missing.

(Garland, Texas , 2017-07-09)

#1212

Maybe Kaytlynn could have been saved if there hadn't been a delay in what law enforcement could have done the same day that she disappeared.

(Gruver, TX, 2017-07-10)

#1216

I believe every child reported missing should be looked for, just in case. There could be a penalty for runaway teens instead of just not searching at all. ITs always better to be safe instead of sorry.

(Rowlett, Tx, 2017-07-10)

#1222

I believe when a child is missing, even if it is suspected that they are a runaway, the Amber Alert should go out. When a parent alerts the police that should be enough to cause alarm.

(McCaulley, 2017-07-10)

#1223

As a parent and grandparent, if my child was missing I would be FRANTIC!!! How can you not issue an amber alert for all missing children??? Especially when you hear about all the human trafficking that is going on in our area....

(Fort Worth, 2017-07-10)

#1224

This is too close to home. They could have found her had Amber alert been issued.

(BEDFORD , 2017-07-10)

#1235

This hit way to close to home. I also have teenage daughters.

(Bedford, 2017-07-11)

#1236

The amber alerts need to be changed

(Forest hill , 2017-07-11)

#1237

I'm signing because missing children do NOT have time for followed procedure. The Amber Alert may have saved her life.

(NORTH richland hills, 2017-07-11)

#1238

I also believe that stipulations, or time frames should not keep our children from being protected. If we believe our children or family member is in danger it should be addressed no matter what the circumstances.

(Kokomo, 2017-07-11)

#1240

Because the guidelines need to be changed.

(Fort Worth, 2017-07-11)

#1243

We need more flexibility to protect our kids ..I rather we over do it than not enough when it come to missing kids.

(Fortworth, 2017-07-11)

#1246

This child was only 14 years old. They should never have hesitated to sound the amber alert

(north richland hills, 2017-07-11)

#1249

Things have to change

(Hurst , 2017-07-11)

#1250

I'm signing this because there could be a chance of helping a child who has gone missing before some terrible happens.

(Bedford , 2017-07-11)

#1251

Needs to change wording

(Willow Park , 2017-07-11)

#1252

I'm signing because we need more options when a young child is missing.

(Fort Worth, 2017-07-11)

#1260

Amber Alerts should go out as soon as Police are informed that a child is gone. Whether it be missing, runaway, kidnapped, etc.. NOT HOURS LATER or the NEXT DAY!!! If it went out earlier this child's life and other children's lives could have been saved!!!

(Wilkes Barre , 2017-07-12)

#1263

I was screaming at the news the night she was reported missing. She was in harm. No14 year old girl goes to walk her dog and then up and runs away. And even if, Amber alerts report runaways all of the time. Whatever the small guideline was to stop the Amber alert for her, should be taken out. If a child is missing, an Amber alert should go out, period.

(Garland, 2017-07-12)

#1267

I know this precious girls grandmother so very sad that nothing more was done to try to find her!!!

(Morse , 2017-07-13)

#1270

Please consider changing the Amber Alert guidelines.

(DALLAS, 2017-07-13)

#1273

This is needed. Prayers to the Family. I am a Mother, Grandmother and an Aunt...

(Kemah , 2017-07-14)

#1274

I'm signing because I live in the city this child was taken. I feel if there had been different regulations on the amber alert law maybe things could have turned out differently. Any missing minor shouldn't be labeled as a run away I feel our community failed this family.

(Bedford, 2017-07-14)

#1275

This breaks my heart to see that we didn't use every resource for the girl from Bedford!

(Connersville, 2017-07-15)

#1281

I am signing this because the amber alert needs to be updated. Young kids that are missing for what ever reason should be included in this. I say this only because of all the crazy that is out on the streets we need to find our kids as soon as possible. My friends daughter is currently missing and her family has done all the leg work and gave the officers the info to follow up. Not all parents do this and shouldn't have to.

(Tampa, 2017-07-17)

#1282

We have to understand that no changes should be listed without the correct research and collaboration of state and public officials to get this rolling. This will come with real time changes but just getting the public behind for the time comes to present the changes is part of the proceess. Thank you Charles for getting this conversation going to make some updates to keep our children safer!

(Lewisville, 2017-07-18)

#1286

Because i knew kaytlnn during 2nd grade she meant the world to me and im just signing for the the safety for other kids

(Richland hills, 2017-07-19)

#1288

I am signing because the Amber alert needs to be changed.

(Rowlett , 2017-07-20)

#1296

She could've been saved had an amber alert been issued

(Bedford, 2017-07-28)

#1298

Because my daughter is Kaytlynn's step-sister and I loved this sweet girl. The laws need to change so that the police officers can have more lead way with alerting the public when an abduction occurs or the child vanishes.

(Mesquite , 2017-07-28)

#1301

I agree there needs to Ben some guideline changes for whenever a child isn't a run away risk or not likely. There needs to be some flexibility on the police departments side to Meade the call.

(Littleton, 2017-08-01)

#1306

I think they should had done the Amber alert when they found her dog and could not find her . And that is not like Bedford Police Department or hasn't been like I have known them to be in the past . I grew up in Bedford.

(Arlington, 2017-08-06)

#1309

I can't stop thinking about this sweet girl and her family and what they must be going through and I just hope something can be done to prevent this in the future. Prayers and hugs.

(Ventura, 2017-08-07)

#1312

I'm signing because her maybe her death could have been prevented

(Dallas, 2017-08-11)

#1324

Amber Alerts, like all electronic alerts, need to be kept constantly updated to 'change with the times' and properly reflect advances in social and emergency communications.

(San Antonio, 2017-08-12)

#1326

I'm signing because changes need to be made in the criteria for the Amber Alert. Innocent children have suffered.

(Hurst, 2017-08-12)

#1327

I agree it needs to be changed. This is heartbreaking and I am in utter disbelief that there was no amber alert done. I don't care if that child that they claim could have ran away. You just dont leave your family dog tied to a fence and tell your friends you will be Right back. And then boom vanished! Change the law!!!!

(Trenton, 2017-08-12)

#1329

No child should be considered a run away just because the fear of imminent danger is unknown. A child missing from their family IS dangerous! Danger is in their pockets and right at their fingertips. It doesn't take much for the wrong person to find your child.

(Fort Worth , 2017-08-13)

#1330

Human trafficking and violence to the innocent has become a huge ordeal and I too worry constantly about my daughter.

(Brownwood, 2017-08-13)

#1333

To keep all of our children safer.

(Euless, 2017-08-13)

#1334

Our children deserve all measures possible to keep them safe.

(Waxahachie, 2017-08-13)

#1336

Because its common sense.

(Euless, 2017-08-13)

#1337

Alerting right away for missing persons no matter what the situation.

(Euless , 2017-08-13)

#1341

This NEEDS to happen. If the Amber Alert was already like this, we would have a lot less tragedy and more happy endings. The system needs to change now

(Euless, 2017-08-13)

#1349

It has to be one of the worse things people can go through, when their child, spouse, parents, grandparents or any other person is abducted. I pray that this is changed for the better.

(Norfork, Arkansas, 2017-08-14)

#1352

I have young children & I feel there should have been an Amber alert for this young girl. Especially when her parents didn't know where she was & the dog was found unattended.

(Hurst, 2017-08-14)

#1356

There should be something for teens that have disapeared even though no one saw anything. This puts people on the look out. Even if the teen ran away they are at risk and vunerable to preditors! They are still minors and still babies when it comes to surving!

(Fort worth, 2017-08-14)

#1357

I agree with this petition.
Alert guidelines definitely need to be readdressed and changed.
It could save hundreds of lives.

(Whitney, 2017-08-14)

#1359

I care.

(Richardson, 2017-08-15)

#1363

Change the guidelines!

(Euless, 2017-08-16)

#1365

The laws need to be changed to improve the system.

(Ennis , 2017-08-18)

#1366

I believe every missing child is very important and every minute counts. Please please please change the guidelines.

(Fort Worth, 2017-08-18)

#1367

Each and every missing child deserves every opportunity that we have to be located.

(Gruver, TX, 2017-08-18)

#1371

Amber Alert guidelines need to be changed$

(Garland, 2017-08-18)

#1377

The amber alert needs to change their guidelines!!!

(Fayetteville tx, 2017-08-20)

#1380

This needs to be updated/modified for our children.

(Lockhart, 2017-08-23)

#1383

I have 3 children. If anything happened to them, I would want everyone on the planet looking for them asap!

(Spring, 2017-08-27)

#1387

I would like to see these changes made for the amber alert system.

(Euless, 2017-09-01)

#1389

I want the best chance to save children. Changes are needed and wanted.

(Lubbock , 2017-09-01)

#1394

This could be the reason a child is saved in the future

(Wichita, 2017-09-03)
