Demand for PPG2 Take-home Exam Cancellation

Any mere changing of the date will arbitrarily benefit some and harm others, and would be so late that many people would have trouble adapting. Having no exam is the most equitable option, and given the difficulties of the exam schedule as is currently, it is the best option.

The current exam schedule is causing immense stress for all students which affect our education experience and mental well-being. Also, having three assessments does not guarantee that we understand the subject more as we barely have time to put enough focus on anything.

I am signing because I want to be able to study for and be successful in every assignment of this course without having to sacrifice my other course or my mental health

Makes no sense

I am currently a first-year PPLE student and wish to see the programme improve. This much workload is unreasonable even for PPLE standards and could be revised.

The deadline for the take-home exam does not take into account the overlapping exams of other courses on the same date. Moreover, we are already given the assignment to write an academic essay that incorporates the literature we have covered so far, so I doubt the necessity to distribute and frame another academic essay as a 'take-home' exam. Instead, an essay (without the need for citation) can be incorporated in the final exam for example as an open question. Moreover, the requirement that you need to resit both if you failed one is inconsiderate since the time frame between both does not imply that it is part of the same exam.

We need to create a new relation btw students and exams and this situation is symptomatic of this issue.

Because I want PPLE to make sure that the never-ending mistakes in course structures will reduce

I can for the life of me not understand how an additional take home exam is supposed to alleviate pressure, in fact it has only increased!

This is unnaceptable.

I agree with all the points in this petition.

I'm signing because I agree with the point that even with very good planning putting a take home exam the weekend before two other exams makes it very hard to study properly. This is in no way a good distribution of work load. I would have liked to have a take home exam two weeks earlier. This distribution has no recognition for the fact that we also have another course that we have to study for.
