Children need to be more protected. Unfortunately the fact that they are granted rights just because is not right. They have a serious issue. The life long mental abuse a child will go through just the same as the mother did or father

everyone should keep they hands to themselves !!!!

I believe that those who have abused a woman when she was pregnant with their child should not be allowed rights to have that child. If you can control your anger with an adult I don’t believe you can handle it with a child, a lot of patience is required

No child should be put in harm's way and told to wait and see if it actually happens. A man that can openly assault a pregnant woman and harm a child without a second thought

Samantha Fohrd (Buffalo, 2020-08-03)

Children should not be around any abusive parent without supervision.

Domestic violence is a horrible issue that doesn’t seem to be taken anywhere near serious enough. We are fighting for our rights to actually live our lives, not just survive or to live in fear everyday. And our children shouldn’t have to live like that either.

No women nor kids should have to go thru this. And an abusive man shouldn't be able to get his kids unless going thru the correct programs and guidance to become well enough to atleast have state supervised visitation

i used to teach in the inner city. i had kids in class that were bruised or filthy or exhausted because it was visiting night with "daddy" the night before.

If there is *any* litigation, ongoing or past, having to do with abuse, the person in question shouldn't be allowed near any children at all, his or not, and definitely not left alone with any.

It only takes about 5 minutes with an abuser to ruin your life. As an abuse victim myself (6 yrs old, babysitter) i know exactly how bad it messes with your mind for years and years. I'm almost 40 and it's not like I'm going to get over it any time soon.

Rights my butt. Protect the kids first and the grown-ass man later. Or not at all. I don't care *what* happens to abusers.

No one should have to fear for their children like this. The system needs to protect children over a father's rights

I'm signing because our children need to stay safe. They need to be sheltered from violence and abuse. We need a generation of compassion. It's not acceptable that today's generation is immune the violence.

i don’t think the father of baby should see the baby because he abused nilda well the baby was in her stomach and hasn’t been looking for his baby and now that his girlfriend wants him to see the baby he’s trying to fight to see his baby if he really wanted to see his baby he would of been there since day one and he should of never hit nilda.

I am signing because I was in an abusive relationship with my child’s father for 4 years . Fathers that are abusive to the mother shows they are simply abusive period . If you are an abusive person you are an abusive person . Period . And have absolutely no right to be around children . My x abuser strangled me in front of our son . He went to jail for 6 months for that . He didn’t just Abuse me that one time many times he’s hit me and choked me and went into absolute rages in front of our son . He has no right to be Around children if he acts like a caged animal hurting another human being especially in front of their children. The laws to be changed badly . Kids are subjected to so much when an abuser gets access to their children. Like I said an abuser is an abuser and the law is trusting that an abuser should have rights . You are mentally destroying children.

Jeanne Elder (Avon , 2020-08-04)

Laws need changed. If you abuse the other parent, their rights to their children should be taken away. Verbal/psychological abuse is very damaging to children. They should not be allowed around their kids. They should not have any rights.
