I want this to stay alive

These boys have worked so hard to build this up! They’ve spent their own time after school and on weekends working on this project, instead of being a public nuisance or on their devices all night. Don’t rip down something they’ve worked so hard on. Team work, communication skills and dedication has gone into this.

Monica Arena (Melbourne, 2020-09-01)

I have put countless hours into these jumps and all that work will turn to nothing. All we are doing is moving some dirt how’s that an issue?

Andre Mirenda (Melbourne , 2020-09-01)

#20

Why move dirt unnecessarily for reasons of fear!?

Chris Heyes (Ascot Vale, 2020-09-01)

I fell there aren't enough spaces for our kids to go and play safely, get the exercise they need and hang out with their friends. Getting rid of parks like this impacts them and leaves them with less places to go.

Mariska Nagy (MULGRAVE, 2020-09-01)

We need to let kids be kids!

Rebecca Sanders (Noddrie, 2020-09-01)

I'm signing because these kids showed initiative should be allowed to have fun like this.

Jill Paton (Keilor East, 2020-09-01)

because theses are exactly what kids need. To be outside being active and enjoying their with friends

This is a travesty, waste land that has been turned into community benefit by kids. Council now wants to turn it back into wasteland! Where is the logic??

Mark Koster (Melbourne , 2020-09-01)

#41

Keeping the jumps is keeping kids happy & active- that is a very good thing!

Lisa Sommerlad (Melbourne, 2020-09-01)

Great area for local kids

Cate ODonoghue (Strathmore, 2020-09-01)

This is old fashioned fun and they are not hurting anyone. The boys have put a of work into this and created joy for a lot of others.
What is wrong with this council for not allowing this harmless pleasure.

Hi there, as a resident of Moonee Valley and a parent of a enthusiastic mountain biking teenager. I am asking you to please put an injunction in place, preventing any council demolition enforcement of the bike tracks created by local riders behind the Glenbervie Railway station. Until a community response can be submitted and discussed with relevant parties. This un used and concealed portion of land has not been utilised by any relevant parties in many years, and has been left as a wasteland. There are no walk tracks or significant aboriginal or historical references in that portion on land. Local junior mountain biking enthusiast have created a substantial number of little tracks that allow them to exercise and hone their riding skills.
It has all been created from the use of physical bodily skills with no mechanical machinery.

So many kids constructing dirt jumps around the area, with many that are destroyed by council. Isn’t this telling you that our kids need more permanent structures in our community for kids to utilise? Don’t destroy what has become our kids enjoyment and outlet. They are not harming anyone.

Renee McGrath (Melbourne, 2020-09-02)

I love to see these kids free and riding their bikes. So sick of the fun police. And while your at it leave the Aberfeldie park alone too. And take down that orange netting

Judy Whelan (Vic, 2020-09-02)

A key enjoyment of many lives in these times

We all have spent our time dedicated to build the jumps to help relieve stress during lockdown and to stay both mentally and physically healthy.

Jayden Leong (Melbourne, 2020-09-02)

It would be great if we could keep this for the kids to have some fun and practise. It gets them out of the house and adds something to the area. I would be very disappointed if this was removed

Joseph Goebbels (Melbourne, 2020-09-02)

#79

Because the fun police needa cut it out

Rob Pernice (Melbourne , 2020-09-02)

These kids aren’t doing anything wrong, they aren’t harming anyone. In hard times such as these, the kids need this outlet to escape their emotions. These jumps are essential to their mental health.

The jumps mean a lot to me as the boys and I have put in heaps of work and time into building them as we were told to build them here instead of napier park, respecting the council and what they have asked we did so and now they are thinking of knocking them down... seems to be abit unfair after being told we can. This is really upsetting watching all our hard work go to waste as the land isn’t being used as anything else, the land has never looked better and when we first looked at the land we could tell it wasn’t maintained by anyone and was abit of an eyesore, with all the jumps there it is quite appealing and the public love to see it, we get heaps of people walk through and tell us to keep it up and how good it is. Please don’t destroy the jumps!!!

Josh Stakemire (Melbourne , 2020-09-02)

#95

It is an amazing community space that that allows for physical activity and time outside of the house if only for 1h

Tom Purcell (Melbourne , 2020-09-02)

#98

I like these jumps and believe they gather a nice community

Ruben Spiteri (Melbourne , 2020-09-02)

I’m signing because I helped build these jumps and we put a lot of effort into these jumps and it all gives us a chance to keep busy and do something and now they are ruining our hard work

I can't think of a better use for this land. Outdoor activities for kids - essential!!!

Maureen Salter (Hume , 2020-09-05)

As a child I spent a lot of time riding jumps and trails. It was great exercise and I was able to spend time with good friends

This is so important for kids development. Getting away from screens, using/ developing STEM skills, learning how to take risks, learn not to be wrapped in cotton wool, exercising, social interaction, the list goes on. Do not rob our kids of these opportunities.

Veronica O'Sullivan (Essendon , 2020-09-06)

#120

Let the kids be kids. Who didn’t do this growing up? If council can provide a safe place for this to occur even better but with everything kids are going through at the moment this sounds like a great way of looking after their wellbeing and development.

Melissa Pettey (Keilor east, 2020-09-11)

#124

The jumps should stay

James Sundborn (Melbourne, 2020-09-20)

#125

These kids just want to have fun and this is way better than sitting on screen. They keep their minds active designing jumps and they keep their bodies healthy through exercise. These jumps are out of the way and they are not harming anyone. MVCC SAVE THIS AREA FOR OUR KIDS.

Natalie Davis/Sarris (Essendon west, 2020-12-17)

These young men and women love doing what they are doing and the Councils are not building the facility's like this themselves. Give them an area to do their activities please.
