The hair and beauty industry have proven there safeties and care ..
we need to open our salons , it’s Christmas

Pamela Morrissey (Cork , 2020-10-26)

#4

I own a salon and don’t want a lockdown on it! 😂

Patrick Murphy (Cork, 2020-10-26)

#5

The hairdressers have been more than compliant.

Sinead Dunphy (Cork, 2020-10-26)

#6

We have worked so hard and implented so many health and safety measures.
These measures have kept our staff and clients safe from covid.
Closing our businesses after we have proven we keep our salons completely sterile is ludicrous

Amy Kennedy (Carrigaline, 2020-10-26)

#21

Hair salons are ALOT safer enviroment than what alot of the "essentials" are

Norah hurley (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#26

We have been one of the safest cleanest industries to adhere fully at a huge loss to the government’s recommendations and yet sport shops who have decided to retail dog food can trade. Mabey we should search for the loophole!

Lydia Greer (Cork , 2020-10-27)

#28

Its so unfair

Shirley Deasy (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#29

I am a hairdresser

Maria Mccarthy (Cork , 2020-10-27)

#30

I am a salon owner and agree with all of the above.

Suzi Bermingham (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#38

I think the salons are very safe environments. They are always very hygienic and even more so now. One client as at time, no waiting area now, ppe, sanitising stations and screens. What could be safer???

Regina Cooney (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#43

I'm signing because I don't agree that these small business who forked out alot of money to get reopened the 1st time around & have stuck to the rules & guidelines put in place should be closed. These guys all have tax to pay at the end of December aswell as all other costs & bills of running their business. I think the government made a rash decision without properly thinking things through & I think it's an absolute joke, they do not represent how the general public feel & they should be made pay out of their well lined pockets for the economic damage they have caused & will cause our beautiful country.

Julir Bermingham (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#44

These salons are so safe and most people in this industry are self employed, the restrictions are ruining these businesses when they don't need to

Denise O'Flynn (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#45

To support a friend

Rebecca Glavin (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#46

I work in a salon we have done everything we can to make sure the team and clients are safe and there is no evidence to show a spike in cases coming from a salon environment

Katie Lawlor (Cork , 2020-10-27)

#48

Hairdressing and Beauty Salons are Probably one of the most sanitised and hygienic places, we have spent months and a lot of money putting procedures in place to protect our clients for us to be just closed again without any hesitation. There hasn’t been a single case detected in a salon. We consider it an essential service for people’s well-being.

Lorraine Martin (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#49

Theses poor people have been hit hard since the start of this pandemic, they have followed all the guidelines and I don't see why they should be punished again if they are following the rules.

Mark McCarthy (Cork , 2020-10-27)

#50

I firmly believe I am very safe in a hair salon. The effort that's gone into cleaning ppe is absolutely amazing.

Suzanne Mcsweeney (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#58

Enough people are loosing their livelyhoods and if they are doing everything possible to be safe then let them open

Valerie Haynes (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#59

I’m signing because the beauty industry does not deserve to be punished- it’s one of the few industries that is complying exactly to the regulations and is extremely safe environment!

Melanie Barrett (Cork , 2020-10-27)

#65

I think hair salons are one of the safest environments to visit. They temperature check at the door. They supervise correct hand sanitizing and they have very strict cleaning programs in place. They provide proper PPE for their clients and staff. Clients remain in one place throughout their visit. Supermarkets do not follow any of this and customers are moving around touching items. It’s clear market discrimination

Jill Powell (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#66

If the GAA can sweat and spit all over eachother and pull and drag out of eachother with no adherence to the safety guidelines issued by WHO in accordance to Covid....

Then why cant we open our business’s in the safe controlled environment we have created in our salons under your strict guidelines whilst using PPE gear??

Close us because we are not compliant, please dont close us because others are not adhereing to the measures in place!

Very unfair and a total contradiction

Eimear Byrne O Connell (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#79

It makes no sense . I run a higher risk of contracting Covid on a train, bus or supermarket . Hairdressers have always had a high standard of hygiene which went into overdrive after the first lockdown . Go into a larger supermarket now an they have no idea of numbers in the stores .

Helen Godfrey (Cork City, 2020-10-27)

#82

An industry primarily self employed workers with no Covid 19 clusters/cases which has maintained protocols since returning in June. Does not make sense to close!

Jen Mc (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#84

I have a beauty salon with over 33 years in cork city . We have gone over up and behond care for our customers and feel disrespected by our Goverment.

Mary Coleman (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#89

I do not believe shutting down these businesses is ethical and does not impact the overall number of Covid cases. People can still restrict their movements but have access to businesses that serve their needs. Going to and from a hair salon or other such business can be done safely.

Joanna Heffernan (Cork, 2020-10-27)

#100

Hairdressers have worked so hard to keep their clients safe...safety has been and always will be their priority....the restrictions aren't fair

Noelle Mccarthy (Cork , 2020-10-27)

#110

Times are tough enough to be with out the little things that make us feel human.

Laurina Madden (Cork, 2020-10-28)

#112

We are supplying a very safe environment for clients. Everything is sanitized after every single service. All my clients felt very safe and comfortable in.

Dainute Petrauskiene (Castlebar , 2020-10-28)

#113

It's a joke the hair salon industries closed

Denis O keeffe (Cork , 2020-10-28)

#116

Because as a salon owner I've have taken all the necessary measures to keep our clients and staff safe, salons have not produced a high number of cases in fact the cases from salons is very very low, yet we are punished, we can't keep paying rent with no income, a lot of businesses will not reopen after this, you close the salons but leave the salon suppliers open? Why if we are not supposed to be doing hair is there a need for them to be open. Apparently it's one rule for some and another for others

Seamus Stewart (Galway , 2020-10-28)

#122

There has been mo reported clusters involving hair salons, the prove is there what we are doinv is working .

Jacqui Murphy (Cork, 2020-10-28)

#126

We have done everything possible and successfully kept clients and staff safe with ZERO Covid 19 cases

Pamela Curran (Meath , 2020-10-28)

#127

Because I believe salons and beauty to be a safe and sterile environment & should Be allowed to continue to operate as they do. Open the salons and give the brides back their makeup artists and stylists

Pamela Prati (Cork , 2020-10-28)

#131

My business is closed( hair salon)

Susan Hughes (Monaghan , 2020-10-28)

#134

I'm signing because it's not right, absolutely ridiculous

Danguole Grike (Tuam, 2020-10-28)

#138

Because they have worked their ass off getting everything right, and ican't get my hair done and people can buy alcohol!!!!!

Anne Marie Murphy (None, 2020-10-28)

#139

Safest places by a mile!!!! No clusters there why did they have to close theve spent.a.small fortune getting back.open only to be forced to close again!!!!

Lynda Ennis (Wexford, 2020-10-28)

#140

It’s because, the decision to close the hairdresser, barber and beauty saloons stating they are “not essential”, but leaving the CBD store, corner shop, diaries and other “not essential shops at all” open, is the biggest nonsense I ever experienced. I can’t give you a suggestion on what to do to stop the spread of COVID-19, but sure is that targeting parts of an industry for closure is definitely wrong and will give ground for ppl starting to talk and question the decisions you’re making.

And further, think about how you feel bad when your hair is looking like Tarzan from the jungle. This feelings can make ppl ill and feel worse than already due to the lockdown. Having hair done is considered as essential, ask people or make a survey, you will notice then.

Adam Sattari (Cork, 2020-10-28)

#141

Cases are not coming out of hair and beuty! One of cleanest! Our business will not be able to survive

sabrina murphy (wexford, 2020-10-28)

#147

Most hairdressers are super careful and hygiene is number one in their books. It’s hard enough to stay positive in these difficult times

Mitch Coote (Enniscorthy, 2020-10-28)

#148

I'm signing the petition because in the hair dressers there is social distance, your only allowed to go on your appointment time.

Catherine Harding (Wexford , 2020-10-28)

#150

I am a salon owner

Joyce Breen (Enniscorthy, 2020-10-28)

#168

I work in this industry and even pre-covid my hygiene practices have been extremely high. We have completed all the covid prevention courses in accordance with government guidelines and the WHO

Marie-Thérèse Byrne Byrne (Dublin , 2020-10-29)

#169

My hairdresser and MUA have always practiced hygienic methods and are holding themselves to an even higher standards now.

Aideen Brady (Dublin 8, 2020-10-29)

#178

Most salons absolutely comply to hygiene standards , with or without a pandemic. They were never the source of the spread. Open them back up , and if further standards need to be introduced Then I’m sure most salons already adhere to these.

Claire McCarthy (Cork, 2020-10-30)

#180

Hairdressers should be allowed work they have kept all premises safe like anywhere else it’s unfair on them to be closed

Ceire Lougheed (Cork, 2020-10-30)

#181

As a stylist and salon owner , we can not keep this up. Contact tracing and sterilization is enough . We all want to and need to work .

Lisa Power (Cork, 2020-10-30)

#184

I've been visiting my hairdresser since lockdown was last lifted and I've felt safer there than in any of the shops I've been in.

Lisa Devlin (Wexford , 2020-10-30)

#185

I felt safest while at the hair dressers over the past few months

Fran O callaghan (Cork, 2020-10-31)

#186

I think it is important for people to learn to live with this virus rather than keep locking on and off all country. People can and want to work, spend money not on Covid payments but to upgrade ICU and health care in general.

Gintare Murphy (Ballincollig , 2020-10-31)

#189

i feel they worked very hard to keep poeple safe and very little cases link back to them

anne moynihan (tralee, 2020-10-31)

Siobhan Furlong (Wexford, 2020-11-02)
