Reinstate Father Michael Suhy

Comments

#201

Add Father Michael Suhy to the list is brave priests trying to do the right thing and getting knocked down by the AOD. What the heck is going on!

Scott Gordon (Oxford, 2020-11-27)

#202

I think the leaders of the Catholic Church should back the priests that speak the truth, not admonish them. We need more priests like Fr. Suhy.

Gwenn Chesbro (Van Buren Twp., 2020-11-28)

#204

He is great at what he does he helps people in need never turn anybody away kook

Nancy Platt (Hazel Park, 2020-11-29)

#208

Stop the wounding of Mother Church through the persecution of her holiest sons by those who are ensnared by the enemy, and have infiltrated her sacred space.

Angela Thomson (Northville, 2020-11-30)

#210

Father Michael is a very holy priest who loves Jesus. We need more priests like him and how this was handled is very upsetting. It is just one more thing to a list of many things going on in the Catholic Church that is not okay. We are supposed to be better than this! So sad and disappointed in the leadership from the top down.

Simeon Sponsler (Canton, 2020-12-01)

#214

We love Fr Michael and support him in this

Pat Laudicina (Warren, 2020-12-03)

#220

It is our responsibility to be the light of the world and support & enable Fr. Michael Suhy to do the right thing.

Doing the right thing is never easy, it took courage, faith, perseverance for Fr. Michael to respond with integrity when his help is sought out.

As we have a shortage of priests, it is essential to retain the dedicated ones we have & provide an environment so that our youth will aspire to saintly lives.

As we were created in the image of God, we must also retain the light in our hearts, souls, and minds so that we may make decisions & act accordingly.

We must value & count our blessings to have Fr. Michael Suhy and we ask that he be reinstated immediately.

May God bless you for doing the right thing.

Thank you!

Csilla Gutay (Plymouth, 2020-12-03)

#222

This is yet another attack on orthodoxy, traditionalism, and the church's true teaching on human sexuality by the AOD.

Joseph DeLisle (Grand Blanc, 2020-12-05)

#223

One of the holiest men I have ever met. His love for Christ shines brightly and he has done a phenomenal job providing the Sacraments during extremely challenging times. And God bless him for standing up for what is right. Shame on the AOD.

Dave Buonerba (Plymouth, 2020-12-05)

#229

Fr Suhy’s actions were right and should not be punished

Laura Loock (Wilsonville , 2020-12-05)

#232

I’m signing because what the Archdiocese did to Father Michael was wrong and it’s about time the Catholic Church admit their mistakes and make it right.

Erin-Lynn Salazar (Wixom, 2020-12-06)

#233

I’m signing this petition because Fr Michael Suhy is an honest man. He is a holy man. I knew him before he was a priest. He was one of the many who prayed for me to conceive children- something that was medically impossible for me. He was about 19 years old - what 19 year old cares whether or not his professor’s wife conceives? Fr Michael Suhy did. If someone in his parish was being mistreated, he would do something about it. The decision by the Bishop to remove Fr Suhy from this parish has nothing to do with Fr Suhy’s ability to run a large parish. I pray the truth comes out.

Laura Hayes (Gorham, 2020-12-06)

#235

What the Church needs MOST are holy parish priests, and everything we've witnessed points to Fr. Michael being a holy man.
We believe that even if the charges which led to his dismissal were true (arguable at best), the solution is not to forcibly remove him, but to provide administrative/management resources for the 'business' end of running a parish.
We have suspended our attendance at and support of OLGC as a result of what was done, because we cannot in good conscience receive Holy Communion from those who are complicit in the bad faith removal of Fr. Michael.

R Kelly Boyd (Ann Arbor , 2020-12-06)

#238

Father Suhy is a beautiful, holy priest. What has happened to him is unjust!

Sandra Bajorek (Canton , 2020-12-07)

#240

Father Suhy is a true pastor, on fire for Jesus and a servant to his parishioners.

Donna Algase (Plymouth, MI, 2020-12-07)

#242

His flock needs there Shephard back.

T G (Plymouth, 2020-12-07)

#245

Cant have archdioceses covering up for wrong doings and letting inocent take the fall .

Dorothy Brownlee (South Lyon, 2020-12-09)

#248

I am familiar with Fr Suhy, know he is a good and holy priest with good intentions, and want justice for the Church and Fr. We are promised transparency but are confused by the lack of it. It is this type of heavy handedness that causes so many of the faithful to lose trust and want to leave the Church.

Debbie Robles (Grand Rapids , 2020-12-09)

#249

I believe that Father Michael is filled with the Holy Spirit. I honor him and his reputation. His removal tears at my heart which believes that his removal was wrong. I am losing faith in the AOD.

Janet Wilson (Plymouth, 2020-12-09)

#252

He is standing up for Catholic faith and doctrines. He is just doing his job to protect his flock

Maria Nic (Columbus, 2020-12-09)

#254

This is unfair

Mary Morgan (Canton, 2020-12-09)

#255

Fr Michael was wrongly banned from our parish. While you are at it, if the associates conspired to get rid of him, kindly remove them to whereever you stashed Fr Michael. The AOD should be ashamed!

Kate Connor (Plymouth, 2020-12-09)

#257

The Church isn’t a democracy and rightly so. I am signing purely to be a voice for truth in the small way that I can. Fr. Michael is a holy pastor and the world and the Church needs more holy pastors. I yield to the decision of the magisterium on all matters.

Marcus Peter (South Lyon, 2020-12-09)

#259

I believe father so he was doing the right thing I calling out evil as he seen it in progress. He saw an incident, he knew it was wrong, and did not brush it under the table but brought it to light. He should not lose his parish for speaking up when he saw what was happening and his conscience would not allow him to be silenced by threats or indignation.

Ruth Michael (Saint Clair Shores, 2020-12-09)

#260

Father is a good and holy priest

Kathleen Serwick (Northville, 2020-12-09)

#263

Fr. Michael is a just and holy man who possesses great integrity

Pam Swiderek (Canton, 2020-12-09)

#268

I had a chance to have confession with Father Suhy over the summer and was overcome by his powerful message of forgiveness and mercy. He is an inspired and talented priest, a real natural disciple of Jesus. Dirty politics should not be a reason to punish an ordained servant of the Lord. Corrupt carnal instincts should not trump the work of a true protector and bridegroom of the Church.

Yvonne Piwowar-Berry (Farmington Hills, 2020-12-09)

#269

I’m signing because we need our good priests! Especially during these unprecedented times! Why not round up all the priest who do fully embrace the Faith and are teaching questionable things? Why go after our good, Holy priests? First Fr. Perrone, and now Fr. Suhy?! The same exact thing was done to Fr. Frank Pavone from Priests for Life, several years ago! This is wrong!!

Jen Nelson (Wyandotte, 2020-12-09)

#275

This is outrageous behavior by the Archdiocese of Detroit. Yanking a Holy and Reverent Pastor out of our Church as if he were a criminal begs more questions than what the Archdiocese is admitting too. Makes one think it's more because he was committed to ensuring his flock received the sacraments during times when our Bishops are cowering instead of standing up for the people of God!!! Celebrating the extraordinary form too much holiness for the archdiocese?
God sees what men do in darkness and the truth will be revealed. We demand that Fr Michael be reinstated!!

Chris Weber (Northville, 2020-12-09)

#276

I believe Father Michael Suhy should be reinstated as Pastor at OLGC.

Janice Estes (Northville, 2020-12-09)

#281

I know nobody loves the LORD more than Fr. Mike !

Andrew Campbell (Houghton Lake, 2020-12-09)

#286

Fr. Michael has been a blessing to OLGC Parish Church and School. Please reconsider your decision.

Ivy Lung (Plymouth, 2020-12-09)

#291

I am deeply concerned that Fr. Suhy was removed for being a whistle blower for unethical and illegal behavior within the Catholic church. The church's continuation to hide this type of behavior in the organization is appalling, and a reason why Catholocism is losing families in the United States.

Natika Mitchell-Cowie (Cody, 2020-12-11)

#292

Fr. Suhy has been an excellent pastor at OLGC, best qualified, and more than capable to serve the parish.

Andrew Sasyk (Plymouth, 2020-12-11)

#296

Father Michael Suhy is a Holy Priest

Teresa Simpson (South Lyon, 2020-12-14)

#303

I’m signing because this is a travesty! You didn’t need to fire the AOD person in question just forbid any contact with any minor in any position! Father Suhy is being punished for speaking the truth! Maybe we need to call for the resignation of Archbishop Vigneron!

Elizabeth Olsen (Farmington, 2020-12-15)

#304

Vigneron needs to have godly priests surround him. Their is a pattern of homosexuality in the AOD

June Szpytman (Novi, 2020-12-15)

#306

When I was a parishioner at olgc, fr michael was an upstanding person and what has happened is a shame. I pray this gets rectified in a manner that doesn't cause too many people to lose their faith

David Meier (Bessemer, 2020-12-18)

#308

Fr. Michael is a great pastor who was leading our parish really well during a very difficult time. It is an injustice to remove him for standing up for the truth and we really miss him. We need good priests please let him come back.

B R (Northville, 2020-12-19)

#312

I'm signing because I know Fr. Michael to be an exceptionally holy priest and of outstanding moral character. And I know him from his first assignment in this Archdiocese when he was assigned to Immaculate Conception parish in Lapeer, Michigan, so I know for a fact that he was trained well by Fr. Douglas Terrien on how to maintain both a parish and a school. He was also my spiritual director for a time, so I was able to know him in that capacity as well. I have absolute faith in him and know that these allegations against him are all false, and support him 100%.

Christopher Sas (Lapeer, 2020-12-23)

#313

Father Suhy is a man of excellent moral character and integrity. He is a true disciple for Jesus and the Church. I believe the AOD owes him a public apology and reinstatement to OLGC.

Sherry's Doran (Plymouth, 2020-12-24)

#315

I am signing because Father Suhy has been treated unfairly by the AOD and has been the best pastor OLGC could possibly have had or wanted & prayed for. He has been wrongly accused of not being able to manage our parish when he was so organized, SO pastoral, and such and so encouraging during this past year of dealing with a pandemic. Father Suhy brings The Love of Jesus to every and all parishioners and to every person in Plymouth. Reinstate Father Michael Suhy to OLGC immediately. It is the right and just thing to do. It puts God’s Mercy toward all of the parishioners of OLGC into action, like the AOD claims to do.

Dorothy Pongracz (Plymouth, 2020-12-26)

#316

We love him 🤍🙏 He is the best!!!!!

Allison Hynes (Warren , 2020-12-27)

#320

We miss you Fr. Michael, you are a loving Shepherd of God’s flock, desiring that Jesus be known and loved! We were so blessed at Our Lady of Good Counsel to have you for our Pastor! May Gods perfect will be fulfilled in your life.
“And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to His purpose, are called to be saints.” Rom 8:28

Sarah Zydeck (Canton, 2020-12-28)

#321

God Bless Fr Suhy for protecting his flock! Evil has infiltrated the church and we must fight back!

Jane Beville (Edgewood, 2020-12-30)

#325

Father Suhy is another persecuted whistle-blower. Please do the right thing and reinstate him to Olgc.

Diane Jennings (Plymouth , 2021-01-04)

#328

Fr. Michael is a good and holy man. Even if there were some issues in administration, that is no reason to remove him and bar him from coming back to his parish. And right before the celebration of 100 years of the parish? I feel very sad about this whole situation. Please bring Fr. Michael back!!

Claire Mueller (Westland, 2021-01-11)

#332

Father Michael had a profoundly positive impact on my children and I will forever be grateful to him and his guidance. We sought his counsel and even though were not parishioners, he sat with us for over an hour in a life changing conversation. He truly is a remarkable priest!

Amy Scott (South Lyon, 2021-01-22)

#333

The parish deserves this Holy, capable, priest with integrity.

BRIAN BINGHAM (Northville, 2021-01-25)

#334

We completely support Fr. Michael. We haven't heard anything that supports the removal of our beloved priest. Fr. Michael, we love you, we trust you and we are behind you 100%. OLGC was our home, but I cannot sit in a pew with anger and distrust in my heart and be "in communion" with a clergy I don't have any confidence in.

Paulette Mullen (Livonia, 2021-02-09)

#336

The truth must come out.

Jane Brown (Plymouth, 2021-02-11)

#338

To correct an outrageous injustice.

Dan Gurta (New Boston, 2021-02-19)

#340

Father Suhy should be rewarded for standing up for the truth, not punished. God bless you, Father.

Ellen Kowara (Downers Grove, 2021-02-22)

#341

Fr. Michael is wrongfully being persecuted

Karen Dupont (ATTICA, 2021-02-22)

#343

I am signing this petition because it is the right thing to do. Fr. Suhy is a Holy Priest and should be able to lead his flock to Heaven.

Debra Tvrdik (FERNDALE, 2021-02-23)

#345

I have known Michael Suhy since he was a child and my catechism student for 2 yrs. Fr. Michael is an honest person and his sanctity shows.

Frances Nicastri (Brighton, 2021-02-23)

#347

I feel he is a blessed priest who was taken out of our parish unjustly. If we had more priests like him this would be a better world.

Carole Baranowski (Canton, 2021-02-24)

#348

He is a wonderful priest.

Audrey Monaghan (PLYMOUTH, 2021-02-24)

#349

Fr. Suhy has consistently been an exceptional, giving and very holy priest.
He is greatly missed at OLGC.

#353

We need him.

Thomas Reiling (Canton, 2021-02-26)

#354

“Proclaim the truth and do not be silent through fear.”
— St Catherine of Siena.

I support Father Michael. I continue to be grateful for his example of an uncompromising disciple of our Lord Jesus. He is truly showing all of us what it means to give up everything to follow Jesus and proclaim the Gospel.

Andrea Pfaffenbach (Canton, 2021-02-27)

#356

We want this to be resolved with the truth by all and a return of Fr. Michael to OLGC

Phil & Patti Michaelson (Northville, 2021-03-01)

#358

From. Michael is an exemplary priest...wish there were more like him!

Mike Schmiedicke (Linden, 2021-03-02)

#359

Fr. Suhy is one of the finest priests I know and an excellent pastor. He was an associate pastor at my current pastor and I know him to be perfectly capable for the unique rigors and stresses of running a large parish.

Laura Brestovansky (Dryden, 2021-03-05)

#371

He’s a good man and I don’t believe has done anything wrong because he listen to God.

Elizabeth Lempea (Plymouth, 2021-03-08)

#373

My husband and I attended college with Michael, now Father Michael and he is one of the most genuine, honest, and joyful people that we have ever met in our lives. He was intent on giving his life to God and serving His kingdom here on this earth with all his heart, not many have served the Church with such heart, zeal, and devotion. His persecution by Church hierarchy is unconscionable. Please reinstate Father Michael at OLGC.

Sheila Blum (Lexington, 2021-03-13)

#379

I know what kind of priest Father is...he didn't deserve what he got...

Robert Gotz (Waterford Twp, 2021-04-13)

#380

I’m signing because truth is the answer. Money, greed and lies are NOT the works of our Gospel.

Loretta Mandel (Warren, 2021-04-24)

#381

Fr Suhy is a true man of God speaking out against evil acts. Please follow the heart of Jesus and bring him back.

Jeanine De Guzman (Plymouth, 2021-04-24)

#382

We need to stand up and protect our faithful priests.

Diane Lowry (Waterford , 2021-04-24)

#383

The Laity is tired of the corruption within the Church. I support faithful priests who are coming forward to crush the horrific clerical abuse. The US Bishops need to respond to this!! Stop using the Church to hide your wickedness. I will be forwarding this to other Catholic's. God bless the faithful Priests who are standing for truth!

Amy Burkley (Duchesne , 2021-04-24)

#384

I personally know father Shuey from his days at St. Louise DeMarillac. He was an honest, friendly and hard-working priest for our parish. Our parish has not been the same since he has left. He’s a holy man devoted to God and his congregation.

Susan Schultz (Warren, 2021-04-26)

#385

I support Father Suhy, what a horrible situation.

Pamela Julian (Dryden, 2021-04-27)

#388

Fr. Michael is a wonderful priest of Jesus Christ.

Ann Ward (Commerce, 2021-06-11)

#391

I went to school with Father Michael in Rome and know him to be the kind of priest the church and all of society needs.

Tara Capizzi (Philadelphia, 2021-06-25)

#393

I am signing this petition because I've personally known Fr. Suhy since his time with the Norbertines in Rome in the year 2000. I consider him a great friend and even better priest. A humble man who believes only in the true orthodox teachings of our catholic faith..

Henry Torres (Hacienda Heights, 2021-06-25)

#397

We met Fr Michael in Warren, Mi. The work he had done in that parish was phenomenal. It was and is very apparent by the fruit of his labor that Fr Mike loves, knows, and serves God with full integrity. I have also taken part in many activities at OLGC and he is the right person for that parish. He is needed to shepherd his flock. Fr Suhy is need there!
