Please support not rezoning or developing 140 Waltrip Ln off Lake Powell rd.

I don’t want to see land that’s been in my family for 4 generations destroyed by development and Lake Powell rd can’t handle anymore traffic.

Bradley Waltrip (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#5

I'm signing because the land in question has been green for generations and should stay that way. Lake Powell Road does not need any influx of cars due to the fact that it is a one way in-and-out road.

Andrea Goalder (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#7

This is some b.s. the Waltrip family in now way deserves to have to go through this.

Kendall Delehanty (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#8

The Waltrip family are close friends and feel like family to my family. I know that this would affect them and many others on Lake Powell great. The schools, roads and traffic are just a few things that have not been considered. Not to mention the loss of local historical sites and green space.

Jamie Shannon (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#10

We need to keep the rural areas in Williamsburg/James City County. People choose to live here because it is not over run like Newport News or Richmond.

Cassandra Collamore (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#14

Lake Powell Rds rural neighborhood feel is no place for this kind of monstrosity. The small and winding road with no traffic flow through is just asking to tie this serene area up in knots. And this is my families generational homestead. They deserve to be left in peace.

Laurie Green (Superior Charter Township, 2020-12-23)

#15

This is absolutely horrible! Please stop this insanity of over building in wmsbrg! There’s no way Lake Powell Rd can handle anymore of this traffic and people!!

Stephanie Hall (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#16

“This development would infringe on the old home place and cemetery of 4 generations. Let's keep this area green for the wildlife and generations to come.”

Courtney Martinez (Williamsburg , 2020-12-23)

#18

My family lives on Waltrip Lane

Sherry Nosaka (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#20

The history that's associated with this area is why it should not be rezoned.

Bernita Allen (Hampton, 2020-12-23)

#24

This is my family. I grew up there. It’s already overgrown.

Tina Putnam (Henrico, 2020-12-23)

#26

This project started as a vineyards only when this property was purchased. This is now changed to a building project of homes surrounding an area rich with history of people who still live nearby. Lake Powell Road will not accommodate the increased traffic this project will generate. Please review and deny this project from going forward.

Tammy Kennedy (Williamsburg , 2020-12-23)

#31

We do not need anymore houses around the area. Also, many animals live in there.

Chris Whitfield (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#32

Lake Powell does not need traffic up and down. There is only 1 way in and 1 way out plus with the school, it would be way to much traffic!!

Meagan Brown (Toano, 2020-12-23)

#37

We do not need to destroy anymore land in Williamsburg.

Alison Lipinski (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#40

I live very close to this land and do not want this, we don't need the added traffic in this area. This is a very bad idea.

Jane Beck (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#46

I’m signing because I grew up on Lake Powell rd. I visited my grandparents on Waltrip lane frequently. This development would drastically change the lives of the long term residents in that community.

Cindy Fuerlinger (Jacobus, 2020-12-23)

#48

this is a historic building site if you go see it. the Waltrip's have lived here for many generations

David Braunstein (Spring Hill, 2020-12-23)

#53

Williamsburg is over Developed!!

Aimee Bell-Thornton (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#58

I am signing because I have lived in Williamsburg my entire life. This area does not need to have this kind of traffic. Williamsburg over the years has become to populated. Leave this beautiful area alone.

Demetra Frink (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#72

I'm am signings because I lived on Lake Powell Rd at one time. I also drove a school bus on Lake Powell Rd. for many years. The road is not wide enough for all the traffic it has now. So why put more traffic on that small road?

Lisa Letchworth (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#76

This area can not handle more traffic. This land needs to be preserved.

Patricia Moore (Williamsburg, 2020-12-23)

#77

Lake Powell is my home!

Megan Cox (Williamsburg , 2020-12-23)

#86

This is already a dangerous road being so narrow with sharp drop offs on the edge. Additional traffic will make it even worse considering the bus traffic from the farm, the many runners, walkers and bicyclists we already deal with. Please do not rezone.

Barry Smith (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#91

The over growth in Williamsburg needs to stop!

Janice Kailos (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#98

That area cannot handle any more traffic. I have lived there for 27 years and seen it grow so much more than it’s been.

Michelle Dana (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

Carolyn Bolchoz (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#105

We need the green space. We do not need anymore development. There are plenty of places standing empty right now also.

Joy Abid (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#107

Lake Powell Road does not need more traffic or this type of development.

Leisa Williams (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#108

I don’t want New Town in my backyard!!

Dena Waltrip (Williamsburg , 2020-12-24)

#111

I live at the opposite end of Lake Powell Rd (3283) and am friends with several of the Waltrip’s! Therefore I am against the rezoning!!!

Julie Stewart-Conn (Williamsburg , 2020-12-24)

#115

Traffic on Lake Powell Road is already at its max -

Margaret LaCasse (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#118

My family lives in the area and we hunt nearby and having more traffic and people will decrease the deer population and increase noise, car accidents etc.

Jamie Gilbert (Williamsburg , 2020-12-24)

#119

I'm signing because I know the Waltrip family personally and I think it's wrong to destroy a family cemetery. Also I know that Lake Powell Rd can not handle any more vehicles than are already on it even if you could access the entire original Lake Powell from Jamestown Rd to Brookside out by 199/Rawls Byrd School area. Please stop trying to destroy anymore families history in James City County areas. It may not be a "money maker" in regards to tourism but it is still a valuable part of history to this area.

Chantel Nixon (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#121

I lived in JCC off Jamestown Road until I married and moved away. I also worked for JCC planning dept as a planning tech. I can not imagine a development that dense being proposed for that area. Please deny and propose a more amenable project.

Lisabeth Slate (SALISBURY, 2020-12-24)

#122

We don’t want or need this in our neighborhood!!

Steve Carson (Williamsburg , 2020-12-24)

#123

Traffic issues not addressed adequately

Mike Hinrichs (Wiiliamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#125

Lake Powell is already too congested and so is the intersection of Brookwood and Rt 199.

Margaret Pritchard (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#126

If they put 1 truch load of dirt back there it will ruin the drainage of my land. We have enough problems with little rain .

Kip Crocker (Williamsburg, 2020-12-24)

#131

It is unreasonable to allow such traffic down a small two lane road. It s crowded enough and may cause so much unwanted traffic and accidents. Do not bend to the greedy folks only out for profit over safety.

Allen Nosaka (Williamsburg, 2020-12-25)

#133

The original Intent of the sale Was not to develop the property . Because I believe people should be honest And Because of All the other Fallout that would affect the citizens if this was developed I vote no

Diana Marahrens (Williamsburg, 2020-12-25)

#135

There is no need to rezone. There are already unoccupied townhomes in the area. To add more traffic to Lake Powell Road is to endanger drivers, residents and wildlife, as well as severely negatively impacting the quality of life of the residents in the area who purchased here in full support of current zoning restrictions.

Ann Marie Cunniff (Williamsburg, 2020-12-25)

#137

I had the immense fortune of living on Waltrip Lane for a fleeting few years. This place is so very special and should be preserved!

Emily B (Toano, Virginia, 2020-12-26)

#141

This is my neighborhood area and Williamsburg is losing its uniqueness and green to stuffing more houses and traffic in.

Katie Nesselrodt (Williamsburg , 2020-12-26)

#142

Can we please preserve our community and stop unnecessary building.

SHAWN BARRY (WILLIAMSBURG, 2020-12-26)

#143

Williamsburg is QUICKLY becoming another Newport News......crime & overpopulated. The city/town is too small and we are now busting at the seams!!!

Please STOP!!!

Christy Young (Williamsburg , 2020-12-26)

#144

Lake Powell rd is too small, Williamsburg is growing much to fast!

Carrie Rogers (Providence Forge , 2020-12-26)

#145

We are fighting rezoning off of Fenton Mill Road in upper York County. Supporting the rural, residential, and historic homes and lifestyle against over development! Fight the good fight!

Judy Slack (Williamsburg , 2020-12-26)

#146

I’m signing because this means something to a close friend of my family

Shiloh Gross (Henrico, 2020-12-26)

#147

We don't need to build on every empty lot. LEAVE SOME GREEN SPACE

Jill Matava (Williamsburg, 2020-12-26)

#150

James City Country needs to stop choking the hell out of every bit odd green space it has. The area cannot handle the traffic. As much at they want it to, this will not benefit anyone but their own pockets.

Kay-Cee Grant (Williamsburg, 2020-12-26)

#158

I'm signing because we need to stop building over our wildlife!

Victor Cruz (Williamsburg , 2020-12-27)

#162

No housing development

Laura Green (Williamsburg Virginia , 2020-12-27)

#166

I grew up in Williamsburg/James City County. Graduated from Lafayette. The scenery and small community is one of the most meaningful attributes about this area. Sadly it is growing so quickly and is looking like downtown Newport News or Richmond. I moved this year away from the place I spent my whole life because of this and wanted to get back to a town that supports its citizens instead of corporate greed. I do not support cutting down more wildlife for housing, we have plenty of that. Fix the rundown houses you already have.

Heather French (West Point, 2020-12-27)

#171

Too much of Williamsburg, it’s natural charm and ecological value has been degraded and removed due to commercial and residential construction. In 2010 I moved from The center of town out to the rural surrounding areas of Williamsburg. Everytime I drive into that area of Jamestown and 199, I am met with stand still traffic. There is no infrastructure in that area of town to support another 60 families, especially up that tight Lake Powell road that leads to the historical and naturally preserved Nationally registered Colonial Parkway.
However the land was purchased, there is no evidence other than James City County’s financial greed, that that historic area of Williamsburg should be rezoned. If that land is to be rezoned, I assume Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown settlement and Yorktown should be next. I’ve been in county meetings and heard the board of supervisors stand by the history of our home here in Williamsburg. I’ve seen land get protected. If the intention of purchasing that land was agricultural, then so be it. To rezone other people’s land is frontierism at its finest. Sadly it’s 2020 and this will be the demise of our community and our planet. Many animals will lose their homes and their way.
Do not rezone Lake Powell!

Jon Wade (Williamsburg, 2020-12-28)

#172

We need to maintain the land as is for historic reasons not to mention the current infrastructure would not support the added residents.

Thomas Salvatore (Williamsburg, 2020-12-28)

#173

This area cannot handle more housing. The road is not wide enough, the green space is beautiful, the structure still standing is historical and the graves there should not be disturbed

Michelle Broady (Virginia Beach , 2020-12-28)

#174

Area cannot handle the increase in traffic nor residents

Jodi Bailey (Williamsburg, 2020-12-28)

#178

This should be a historical site considering that the waltrips Garrett's and yes oteys all have ties to this house. Which helped the community for decades.

James Otey (Deltona fl., 2020-12-28)

#180

Please Don’t rezone

Lynn Miller (Williamsburg, 2020-12-28)

#185

I want to keep the zoning at eight houses we don’t need 150 houses on a little road we have enough traffic

Mary Christine Miller (Williamsburg, 2020-12-29)

#186

I recently purchased the property located at 154 Waltrip ln. tbe reason I purchased the property was due to its A1 zoning. The surrounding land was also A1 for agricultural use. This new development proposal will heavily increase traffic and decrease the quality of life of the residents of lake powell and the value of our property. We were planning to retire soon and grow old in this house. I strongly request this development proposal be shutdown. There is plenty room for development to the west of the county where infrastructure ca support growth. Thank you for your consideration.

Jose Diaz Morales (Williamsburg , 2020-12-29)

#187

My property is at 154 Waltrip Ln.

Gloribel Rivera (Bayamon, 2020-12-29)

#190

Not enough room for the new traffic it over populated as it is, keep the environment the same no building of new homes let’s have some green area please.

David Diaz (Williamsburg, 2020-12-30)

#191

We need to leave the area as it is. We only have one road out of the neighborhood and the increase in cars will create a nightmare. The current residents purchased their property because it is a quiet, established neighborhood. There are many other areas that are open to build that do not change this area dramatically. We just bought a home in the neighborhood after moving from Northern Virginia where just this kind of thing keeps happening. You need to consider the need of the people who are already here.

Anne Meiers (Williamsburg, 2020-12-30)

#192

I want to protect the wildlife in this area. Just this week we have seen white tail deer, coyote and owl (not sure what kind). My children love walking the lane and seeing the wildlife. I love walking the lane because Lake Powell and the the winery has so much traffic I don't feel safe walking with my children and dogs. Please protect this green space and let nature thrive in my children's eyes.

Erin Waltrip (Williamsburg, 2020-12-30)

#193

I oppose the development of this land

Megan Goodmundson (Williamsburg , 2020-12-31)

#195

Lake Powell I a small road and it is congested enough already . Keep the green space

Sharon Pullen (Williamsburg , 2020-12-31)

#198

I am signing this petition because I do not want this land developed or turned into another subdivision.

Laurie Simpson (Virginia Beach, 2020-12-31)

#199

There is not enough green space being preserved and with only one exit from the area will add too much of a traffic burden to the existing roads.
