RESOLVED!!! Change in IDAS setup on Isuzu DMAX

Comments

#1

I have an X-Terrain and I tow trailers and a large caravan.

Christopher Dow (Townsville, 2021-04-28)

#9

The petition seeks a change which should have been obvious from the start - if pulling trailer or caravan, include a function to disable certain features

Ian Reichstein (Milton, 2021-04-28)

#10

I think it should turn off automatically when the trailer plug is plugged in, not to have to do it every time you start the ute

Troy Cooper (Wallaroo , 2021-04-28)

#11

I have also had the same issue whilst towing my 2.5 tone caravan. Safety systems are great but only when they function safely and correctly.

Mika Haaja (Adelaide , 2021-04-28)

#12

I have had issues with towing a trailer and overtaking trucks . Not good at 130km/h which is my state speed limit.

Doug Waters (Alice springs, 2021-04-28)

#13

I’m signing because I agree and have the same issue with our dmax whilst towing.

Jacob Hartley (Bohle Plains, 2021-04-28)

#16

I own a new dmax with the idas system
And believe that you should have the option to keep these on or off.

Alec Whittall (Oakdale, 2021-04-28)

#17

It's actually dangerous!

Adam Rooney (Adelaide , 2021-04-28)

#22

Pain to turn off lane assist every time starting the car

Aaron Gauld (Kingaroy, 2021-04-28)

#25

I have experienced these issues after owning a new MY21 Dmax.

Lewis Hughes (Mulgoa, 2021-04-28)

#26

Because the lane keep tends to pull me hard towards the lines of close to them. In some cases over them into the oncoming traffic before correcting itself and pushing me back. Would be handy to be able to quickly turn it off for short trips in the city

Jason Lindridge (Perth, 2021-04-28)

#29

I’m signing this because I purchased a MY21 DMAX and tow a caravan, I’m disgusted my dealer and head office won’t fix or turn off these malfunctioning safety features.

Jordan Hamer (Perth, 2021-04-28)

#31

I support saftey

Joel Marsden (Newcastle , 2021-04-28)

#35

Because these features sometimes make the car unsafe on the road

Mirza Kulovac (Adelaide, 2021-04-28)

#40

You should be able to have your settings saved not have to do them every time you start the car

Jake Eades (Adelaide, 2021-04-28)

#41

Had brakes slam on when not needed

Josh Dunn (Perth, 2021-04-29)

#43

I tow a van

Rod Larcombe (Hobart, 2021-04-29)

#45

I bought the vehicle to tow a large caravan. I purchased a genuine towpack and would expectvit to automatically disengage the features Isuzu advise to disable when towing.

Bob Cunningham (Wollongong, 2021-04-29)

#46

I Agree with the comments above. If you need to disable things to tow it should be either done when you plug into a trailer and stay off until you disconnect.

Jason Phillips (Wudinna , 2021-04-29)

#49

A safe system is not safe if it causes potential risk, crash, injury and distractions to deal with.
Further more the manufacturers could be liable due to this oversight. In Australia the dealers have potentially a product not fit for purpose and carry the liabilities.

Alan Wallace (Mindarie, 2021-04-29)

#51

I own a dmax

Samson Brent (Perth , 2021-04-29)

#54

I’m signing because I believe modifications can be made to make towing safer and easier than having to deselect options each time you start the car. This could be alleviated automatically when a trailer plug is connected or a switch on the dash.

Ross Clark (Brisbane, 2021-04-29)

#55

Great idea

Michael Noukaris (Melbourne, 2021-04-29)

#61

I'm signing because I own a D-max and would like to have the IDAS settings be saved

Mal Dowling (Bannockburn, 2021-04-29)

#63

This is an annoying feature that should automatically disconnect the second a trailer pin is inserted into a factory fitted coupling.

Steve Ibbotson (Glenelg, 2021-04-29)

#64

I believe a "tow mode" setting should be available in the vehicle settings menu to deactivate certain safety features rather than having to individually find each of the several settings required everytime the key is turned.
Obviously a tow override system would have been ideal so the vehicle could recognise when a trailer plug is installed and deactivate the required systems.

Andrew Gray (Renmark, 2021-04-29)

#67

I’m signing because this is a great idea

Ben Brown (Sydney , 2021-04-29)

#71

I agree with everything said within this petition.

Michael Smallman (Bungendore NSW, 2021-04-29)

#80

Current system is dangerous

Faizal Janif (Sydney, 2021-04-29)

#81

I Have a DMax XT on order and am reading continued stories such as this on line. It has me contemplating canceling my ordered vehicle.

Peter Scoles (Perth, 2021-04-29)

#87

I'm signing because having the option to turn the IDAS off and for it to stay off would be of great benefit when using the vehicle on private property's where i'm not driving on the road for days, over a week at times. Having to turn everything off each time the car starts can be painful. Having it remember and keep the settings until i'm back on the road where i can turn them back on would be of great benefit.

Scott Kelly (Werrington County, 2021-04-29)

#91

This is a regular complaint and I can see the risk for catastrophic accidents and loss of lives if not rectified.

Patrick Cooper (Forestville, 2021-04-29)

#92

There should be a one button feature to turn off the safety devices, but more importantly the car should be able to remember your settings.

Maybe even have different presets (towing, highway, rural) that you can alter to suit your circumstances

Martin Allott (Adelaide, 2021-04-29)

#95

I have a xterrain and I tow a caravan there should be a swich for towing mode

Wally Capaldo (Rosebud, 2021-04-29)

#97

It is a very dangerous system when towing my caravan.

Jim Straatman (Warragul , 2021-04-29)

#99

My IDAS nearly caused an accident by slamming brakes on when u assume it read a tree branch, car behind me nearly ran into the back of me.

Dave Paton (Buderim , 2021-04-29)

#104

As the owner of a Isuzu D Max X Terrain I think the settings in the IDAS system could be a lot more user friendly.

Des Wise (Magra, 2021-04-29)

#111

Because my wife uses my ute to tow a horse float through the hills. It is too difficult to have to turn these features off every time she drives it. They are dangerous while towing and should be automatically disabled when trailer plug hooked up.

Paul Rodda (Adelaide, 2021-04-29)

#112

It's absolutely necessary

Dean Amos (Woongarrah , 2021-04-29)

#114

I too own a MY21 LSU and constantly tow a caravan. Having a tow mode that turns off potentially dangerous systems while towing and only turned back on when needed not every restart would be far safer.

Ash Blesing (Adelaide , 2021-04-29)

#115

I think the safety features need work i tow a trailer everyday

Joshua Foreman (Perth, 2021-04-29)

#116

This worries me after and if people power will get it changed then I am in

Drew Trouw (HODDLES CREEK, 2021-04-29)

#117

Some more useful addition to better the drivers control and auto off of safety features while towing with a auto memory when the features are off when engine stop start
Thanks

Andre Chauveau (Perth , 2021-04-29)

#118

The current design is dangerous and MUST be changed so that IUA mandated safety system deactivation can be done simply and safely to prevent accidents and protect life. Other manufacturers have already made the change.

Peter Law (Wallagoot, 2021-04-29)

#119

The saftey features can be very dangerous in some circumstances

Kane Tanti (Sunbury, 2021-04-29)

#120

I agree totally, the features should be able to be deactivated while driving and the system remember the action.

Bill Neilsen (Perth, 2021-04-29)

#125

I am an owner and have created this petition after experiencing the above events.

Brigham Edgar (Holland Park, 2021-04-29)

#132

I agree that the driver needs flexibility to make adjustments while driving.

Owen Staines (Burleigh Heads , 2021-04-29)

#140

I tow a caravan and the safety features cause issues while towing.

Francesco Nuccio (Alfredton , 2021-04-29)

#144

Incidents involving new isuzu saftey systems

James Orum (Katherine , 2021-04-29)

#148

I experience issues with my idas system on my 21 dmax

Shaun Batty (Ningi, 2021-04-29)

#149

I agree with the author of this petition. Safety is King and I am sure Isuzu Australia would hate a class action should someone get seriously injured or worse still, killed.

Steve Ford (Sydney, 2021-04-29)

#153

As an experienced driver for over 30 year with no problems. These systems have given me a freight behind the wheel nearly enough to cause an accident. This does not improve safety and I hope we do not need an accident first to proof this!

Alex van Welderen (Cairns, 2021-04-29)

#154

Since Isuzu recommends several settings to be off for towing, a towing mode should be available that would deactivate all of these settings and keep them off until towing mode is deselected.

David Orman (Sydney, 2021-04-29)

#156

Turning things off every time I start the dmax is a joke and not recognizing the trailer is a backword step from my 2017 cx5 .

Barry Sanders (Scone 2337, 2021-04-29)

#159

Problem like this need to be fixed simple fix when trailer plug connected all ads are turned off

Scott Lanfranchi (Melbourne, 2021-04-29)

#161

I agree with the request based on the safety of the driver. The driver should have the option to activate any features or deactivate ant feature of a vehicle they choose to. As the consumer it should be their right especially when lives could be lost.

Tony Martin (Toowoomba , 2021-04-29)

#162

The IDAS system needs to be able to be turned off and on when the driver wishes not have it reset everytime the vehicle turns into on and also have all the relevant systems turn off when a trailer is attached automatically.

Travis Barlow (goonellabah, 2021-04-29)

#163

I have a new Dmax and have had similar issues with idas.

Shane Jeffery (Mount annan, 2021-04-29)

#172

Im about to collect a Dmax XT 2021 model and based on reports from many customers about IDAS issues on social media, have similar concerns about it especially when towing a vehicle. The system needs updated before it results serious injury or a fatality.

Pierre Rohloff (Brisbane, 2021-04-29)

#177

Some of the automatic features do unexpected and dangerous steering actions.

Mark Jones (Gwelup, 2021-04-29)

#179

I'm signing because when the IDAS can't be turned off by a single gesture (push of a button) it could put the vehicle and the people on board to danger. one example of that is when you're trying to overtake when an oncoming vehicle is still a very long way off and there is a big chance of succeeding, the autonomous emergency brake would activate and thus exposing you for a collision on the otherside of the road to the oncoming vehicle.

Eman Lachski (Bacolod, 2021-04-29)

#180

Me and my families safety.

Evan Sommerville (Launceston, 2021-04-29)

#183

I want to buy a brand new dmax and have heard great things about the IDAS system which I love certain features it has , but I have also heard instances like mentioned above where the system fails with towing or if the car has been lifted on different suspension. I would like Isuzu to fix certain issues with the system so I am more confident in buying their product !

Lachlan Contarino (Sydney , 2021-04-29)

#196

As the owner of the new lsu and tow trailers everyday it would be great to have a better idas set up on the menu
To cancel things more easily with out spending so much time scrolling through to disengage the features necessary for towing ect
Having to do this all the time is extremely frustrating
Regards Chris

Chris Hansen (Sunshine Coast , 2021-04-29)

#199

I tow everyday!

Mike Pantano (Adelaide , 2021-04-29)
