We need obstetrics services

OB health care And services are a necessity to women’s health and the health of our pregnancies with our unborn children. The Burin Peninsula is a large geographical area and the BPHCC is the hub of medical appointments for such residents. OB care is very important to all family’s in one way or another and we must not loose this right to access OB care in our own region.

If obstetrics was to be taken from the BPHCC, I would not even consider having another baby in the future. It is unethical to isolate such a large area for what should be a basic human right- the choice to have a child, and to have access to proper medical care without having to relocate.

For the safety of Women and Babies, we cannot stand for this.

I believe our area need these services. It will be a great tragedy to loose them.

We need more services here instead of taking our vital ones away !!!

OBS is a very important service at BPHCC and definitely should not be removed.

We need OBS sevices ishould not be removed from BPHCC.
Imagine driving to Clarenville in the middle of a snow storm.
This is a step back in health care for the Burin Peninsula.

We cannot lose our OBS services period. We should never have to stress over having our children when we have the facility next door. There no money in this world enough to say our babies don’t matter or the ladies.

Having expecting mother’s travel hours for care is absolutely ridiculous when our hospital is capable. That adds extra stress to both mother and baby. I can’t imagine going into labour in the middle of the winter and having to venture on the burin peninsula! It’s absurd! Someone needs to smarten up!

I was used this service in past and hope it will be ther to use again if needed.

It’s wrong to take this away. We need the OBS on the Burin Peninsula. 3 hr drive on a good day but with crappy weather it takes much longer. Not too mention the cost associated with people having to stay in St. John’s

It’s Crazy to think the Government is even talking about closing Obstetrics on the Burin Peninsula..There’s times in the Winter the Highway is Blocked with Snow.

I’m signing for ALL the women on the Burin Peninsula.

I'm signing because the Burin Peninsula is a wide spread out area no one wants to go 2,3, or even 4 hours away to have a baby. Plus the cost of family having having to stay in hotels just so dad can stay with mom and baby.

I’ve had the opportunity to give birth in this facility and also work here!! The nurses are wonderful and I’ll forever be thankful with their service and appreciate how close to home this facility is, I can not imagine having to drive 3 hours in labor.

I’m signing this because I believe that the OBS unit in the BPHCC is a necessity for woman who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant in the future. I do not believe it is safe for mother’s/mothers to be to have to travel 3+ hours to receive medical attention if something were to go wrong.
