Boston College COVID-19 Booster Mandate

I disagree with the Booster mandate. I have read the science, vaccines and boosters do not prevent covid 19 illness. Young adults with no risk of dying from covid 19 should not have to have boosters, this is criminal. Boston College will have blood on their hands.

Boston college Parent (Miami, Florida , 2022-01-15)

I'm very concerned about the side effects from the booster shots. My two kids are in the prime age for myocarditis or menstrual cycle disruption, which are side effects that could have lasting consequences. Vaccination does not prevent transmission, therefore there is no ethical reason for mandating covid vaccines.

Theresa Farnan (Pittsburgh, 2022-01-15)

As a Catholic who has sent her children to jesuits schools, I am outraged at BCs stance on the “vaccine”. You’re taking away a personal medical decision for a “vaccine” that doesn’t prevent infection it spread. It’s illogical.

I'm signing this petition because I believe individuals should maintain their medical freedoms and religious/personal/medical beliefs should be honored.

I support vaccine choice, free and informed consent, focused protection as the way to deal with COVID-19 and considering all harms when making public health policy.

Vanessa Pompei (Wellesley, 2022-01-15)

I’m signing because people should have autonomy over their personal healthcare decisions.

James Stouch (Brighton, 2022-01-15)

I am a parent ('25) and I am deeply concerned that we do not know enough about the long-term effects of these vaccines and boosters. The spike proteins that these vaccines produce in the body remain detectable for months. We cannot continue to assail our bodies with a known danger, spike proteins, in light of increasing evidence of adverse events and deaths.
Please Fr. Leahy, we understand you are under direct pressure to continue the vaccine program. It is your oath to God that you must honor at this time, though, or you will be judged for your actions for eternity.

Dan Farwell (Plainville, 2022-01-15)

My son attends BC High. The mandates are discriminatory. I am pleading with the leadership of the Archdioceses of Boston to allow for individual discernment and choice on the issue of vaccine mandates and masking. God bless,

mary faria (hingham, 2022-01-15)

No one - especially young, healthy people - should be coerced to receive experimental injections that have no long term safety data and in the short term have shown to be harmful to many. It is a travesty and a tragedy that any college or university would demand students undergo two, never mind three injections of a so-called vaccine that has been shown to not prevent infection or transmission. The CDC has admitted this publicly. The actual definition of vaccine was revised in order to accommodate these novel mRNA therapies. The virus cannot be eradicated, scientists have stated we cannot "vaccinate" our way out of this pandemic and we have to learn to live with it in a reasonable way. The majority of college age students have extremely low risk of severe disease, hospitalization or death but have been frightened into submission by the constant fear-mongering propaganda via the media. Many young people face unknowable physical problems if they are forced to undergo repeated injections. History will not look back kindly on this endeavor.

Concerned Citizen (Cambridge, MA, 2022-01-15)

I support no vaccine or booster mandates for college students. I am a parent of a student going to UC Davis and I am concerned about the adverse effects it may have on the students not only at UC Colleges but at all colleges

Jennifer Yen (Redding, 2022-01-15)

I am a student who doesn’t feel comfortable taking the booster

Pandemic Porn is a pathetic attempt to control a finally waking up population

stirling smith (Arlington, 2022-01-16)

This mandate violates the Nuremberg code as boosters are not yet approved or tested by FDA.

Aleksandr Levin (Brooklyn, 2022-01-16)

My son goes to BC and I have written two emails to the administration and health department opposing the booster mandate and have received no response. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!!

Jennifer Lucas (Waterville Valley, 2022-01-16)

Mandate is unsafe,ineffective,unnecessary,
Inconsistent & unethical.CDC:only 5% COVID deaths solely attributed to COVID as cause. This clearly isn’t about saving lives, more about control, being coerced into getting an experimental vaccine.

These fake vaccines do more harm than good. The boosters are increasing negative effects. Stop the criminally rich responsible for this chaotic PLANdemic.

Linnette Ramos (Boqueron, 2022-01-17)

BC fired me in late August 2021 as a Senior Applications Developer after working more than 21 years as a programmer in BC's IT department because I refused the vaccination. David Trainor dismissed me in a conference like I was road kill. I was the number one on-call person for the BC web site and for the Canvas on-line learning system. I wrote the SIS Canvas interface. I never went anywhere without my laptop 365 days a year. BC canceled my healthcare for myself, my wife Joy, and my children Brennan(14) and Hadley(9). My mother got her Masters in English Literature and MBA from BC. One of my brothers graduated from BC with a business degree; 4 uncles graduated from BC; 3 first cousins graduated from BC. I am sickened by what BC has evolved into.

BC '84 - I have 20 years of experience with the #VaccineSchedule as an #AutismDad. Happy that people are no longer calling me silly names, but sad for the reason why. This shit is real. I also went to Cornell, and this Cornell Professor has written the Bible of post-Covid -

Michael Sweeney (New York, 2022-01-18)

Forcing people to be injected with poison is wrong. Presently, the poison injections are literally experimental, and the number of identified adverse effects for the mRNA "vaccines" total more than for ALL vaccines in the history of vaccinations.

Anthony Maresco (Poughkeepsie, 2022-01-18)

My daughter's arm has lost power since the 2nd shot in August. Her arm feel pain in rainy and cold day. Her arm couldn't pull her luggage for more than 15 mins. We are seriously worried her arm will be disabled after a booster shot. We strongly disagree forcing her to take the booster shot.

Tracy Chan (Roseland, 2022-01-19)

I am signing this petition because i believe that the vaccine mandate is unconstitutional and should be left to the individual to decide. I work in the medical field and am seeing so many immune responses and medical conditions to these vaccines, boosters, and covid itself. It’s time to let people be in charge of their own body and medical decisions.

stephanie decosta (costa mesa, 2022-01-19)

There's NO science behind this mandate. Follow the science.

Students do not need vaccines or boosters to be safe. Risk vs benefits does not add up.

I am an alumni parent. There will be some students that are excluded from continuing their education because of this policy. My daughter gained so much from her time at BC. Under the current policy, she would have not been welcome on campus. I will fight for injustice and medical freedom everywhere. This very policy goes against everything for which BC stands.

I never thought that the right to bodily autonomy would have to be at the top of my daughter’s wish list for colleges, but I can promise that it is. Members of my own family have sustained heart damage secondary to this vaccine; I fail to understand why a cohort that's at an infinitesimally small risk with a high level of natural immunity is being targeted for forced boosters. As a RN, MSN with a background in research, the current data simply do not support your directives. Where there is risk, there must be choice.

CHRISTY BLACK (APO AE, 2022-01-24)

I agree with this petition

Laura Wright (Seattle, 2022-01-24)

The risk/benefit is not there for this age group. Vaccine injury is a real concern (myocarditis, pericarditis). Where there is risk there must be choice. We still do not know the long term affects of these vaccines. Vaccines do not work against current Omicron variant. Omicron variant is like a cold for most people. These draconian measures must stop now!

Gregory Zawie (Strongsville , 2022-01-25)

Latest studies shows the vaccinated and boosted are so much more likely to get sick. There are no studies showing that boosters work against omicron. Natural immunity is best. After all what will happen to the reputation of your university if the boosted students get too sick to finish their studies or worse, they die from the side effects of the boosters ?

Maria Latino (Saint James , 2022-01-26)

I'm signing because this is the right thing to do.

George Miller (Boston, 2022-01-27)

Edward McCormick (Austin, 2022-01-27)

I do not believe that boosters should be required for this age group, particularly in men who have a small but appreciable risk of the development of myocarditis.

John Merriman MD (Chicago , 2022-01-27)

Long time involvement with BC Pulse Program. And I am embarrassed by BC’s recent ascent as an anti-free speech practitioner of cancel culture.

Bill Cribben (Fort Mill, South Carolina, 2022-01-28)

I do not think this age group (whom are healthy ) need a booster after a prior covid infection or after having received the initial 2 vaccines
The risk of myocarditis is one reason
The other is the new omicron variant does not cause hospitalizations in this population and we also have better therapies to treat it
People who have risk factors should protect themselves but the young healthy population should not be subjected to myocarditis which is a real and unacceptable concern
And the mental health consequences of your decisions are being underplayed and that is the tragedy of this, from an institution based on Christian values and “looking at the whole person “

Tom Vazzano class of '73. It's time for life to get back to normal. According to SCIENCE Covid is no longer a pandemic, but an endemic not unlike the Flu, and it will be with us forever. There are no mandates to take a flu shot, and the same should follow for Covid. BC, and all colleges need to stop making political statements, while ignoring their students.

Thomas Vazzano (Milford, 2022-01-28)

This is a PROSPECTIVE parent... we had hoped to send our child to BC, but now we're so disappointed to hear of your MANDATES! This is not something Christ would ever do and the CURRENT SCIENCE IS BEING IGNORED! Regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not, you can STILL SPREAD Covid. Furthermore, there is NOW an equal chance of being hospitalized even if you are vaccinated (and in some cases, even boosted). WHY ARE YOU IGNORING THE EVIDENCE? Very disappointing to hear that BC is now "woke" and cares more about (bad) politics!

Bee More (Franklin, 2022-01-28)

I'm an alumnus from the class of 2011. Signing due to an understanding that particularly for men, the benefit of a booster does not outweigh the risk of myocarditis, as well as the clear data that show 2 doses + infection is more protective than 2 doses + booster. This is unreasonable and irrational to require boosters among this group of highly protected and low-risk individuals.

I am signing because these college kids were promised 2 shots to be fully vaccinated now are told 3. When will it end next will be the new omicron one do 4. They do not need this shot. I’m signing also for the future my son will be in college on 3 years. Freedom of choice is what this country is about. Not mandates of EUA vaccines. These kids are not lab rats.

Joanna Lederman (Elmsford, 2022-01-29)

All Americans should have medical freedom these are investigational vaccines with unknown long term affects
Myocarditis and other serious heart problems are far worse than covid

Vaccinations should be up to the individual and not forced upon ANYONE. Additionally, education should NEVER be denied to someone because of his or her personal beliefs.

Elizabeth Campbell (Poulsbo , 2022-01-29)

Should allow any and all choice by students to have these dangerous experimental vaccines or not.

Graduated BC “94”.

Paul Lozier (Brighton , 2022-01-29)

As a BC alumna, I firmly believe this is akin to Russian roulette with our college-aged students, especially our young men. Promote the shot all you want, but NO MANDATE. I expect the BC administration to take the lead on this issue.

Elizabeth McClung (Bedford, 2022-01-29)

No person should be required to take risky experimental gene therapy. Surely it will affect their ability to reproduce. Many are dying of clots and heart attacks and strokes. End the masks and testing and vaccine mandates.

Thomas Connors (Brookline, 2022-01-29)

I am an alumni and a donor and I am appalled at the fact that BC is still requiring a booster in the face of the fact that it does not work on nee variants and carries a risk of severe injury. Healthy young adults do not need this vaccine and especially do not need multiple boosters.

Jennifer Sayer (Cohasset, 2022-01-29)

I graduated from the BCSON 1995, became an RN and later an APRN. I have advised my vaccinated son not to boost. The available evidence says he is protected from the vaccine. Research is continuing to evolve about myocarditis in these boys and Omicron is evading boosters quite cleverly. Follow the science BC!

Krista Maloney (New Hartford , 2022-01-29)

It is important for us to support the kids and the knowledge we have seen through the pandemic. Too many side effects and no liability. My daughters is going to college next year and she DOES NOT want the vaccine, let alone the booster. That’s my why

Marlaina Bertolacci (Tarrytown , 2022-01-30)

My second dose of Moderna nearly killed me. This is a very dangerous chemical. Please, no.

Valerie Pontiff (CHESTNUT HILL, 2022-01-30)

Forced medical treatments are WRONG. Kill shots, clot shots the evidence and the truth cannot be ignored. If BC forces this and a person dies they should be charged with homicide.

Cameron Smith (Steamboat Springs, 2022-01-30)

Gabriel Almeida Fortuna de Oliveira (Newton, 2022-01-30)

I do not support mandating covid vaccine and the booster shot.

Sheila Molloy (Darien , 2022-01-30)

I had covid. The vaccine does not stop the spread. And you, Fr. Leahy, have no idea of the long term health impact.
You've created a school where kids are afraid to speak up. We've already had one student seriously injured (and likely a lot more). He had a stroke and yet you don't so much as call him! What kind of man are you?!
When people can't have kids, where will you be? You're no better than the pedophile priests. This time you're coming after us via a syringe. My body is not your choice.
