Help! We Must Stop the Proposed Rezoning for the Warehouse/Distribution Hub at PGBT and Liberty Grove Road!

Comments

#201

It goes against the form based code that was put into place for a specific reason.

Hestand Craig (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#202

Rowlett does not have roadway to handle heavy 18-wheeler traffic 24/7. The proposed rezone would cause severe road damage.

Dorothy McAllister (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#203

I’m concerned about our property values and the traffic. I’m all for adding retail businesses or something desirable in this location but the proposal won’t add value to our residential area and it will likely lead to congestion even greater than we experience today. There are other options to accomplishing the outlined goals and I recommend looking into them.

Stephen Ray (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#206

This is not good for our community. This opens the door to sex trafficking and other dangers for our community. This area has many schools and children.

Vincent Garza (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#207

This is not acceptable for our community. This is a area where we have many schools and neighborhoods. If they want to develop something they should develop a park. A distribution center or apartments will not help our community.

Vanessa Garza (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#214

I own a home in Waterview and do not want my property values to be negatively impacted by this. Also, I drive Liberty Grove frequently and need access to GBT on a regular basis.

Richard England (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#215

I believe that this type of industrial development is detrimental. The infrastructure in that area cannot support that kind of truck traffic. It puts burdens on the citizens of Rowlett and will devalue the properties. I also believe there will be a safety concern for those citizens who have no choice but to travel Liberty Grove as and ingress and egress point.

Tina Luttrull (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#216

I think it is better for Rowlett, and will improve its appearance and attract better classes of people to our city

Andrew Burke (Rowlett, Texas, 2022-01-11)

#217

The negative effects of a warehouse development would seriously make me consider moving.

Jeremy Long (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#221

We do not want this to bring the value of our home down nor bring this type of traffic to our neighborhood.

Chance Merritt (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#223

We do not need this here, this will cause a huge traffic problem.

Jafet Ortiz (Rowlett , 2022-01-11)

#225

Totally agree I vote no move it somewhere else in a industrial division of Garland

Juan Martínez (Rowlett , 2022-01-11)

#226

Do not want the traffic congestion in that area.

Jill Ritter (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#229

I don't want this type of industrial / commercial land in the front of our neighborhoods.

Heather McMullin (Rowlett , 2022-01-11)

#231

Pleas DO NOT rezone the land located east of the PGBT and north of Liberty Grove Road, to develop a 165-Acre Warehouse/Distribution Hub. I

Vickie Magee (Rowlett , 2022-01-11)

#236

All the acreage that we have left standing is much needed. We need oxygen, we need living space and we just downright do not a warehouse distribution center with all the other warehouse distribution centers in the near five cities and counties

Anita Curtis (Rowlett , 2022-01-11)

#239

I am opposed to the re-zoning of 164.57 acres adjacent to PGBT shown as item 5B on the 1/11/22 P&Z agenda. The City put together a good plan in the FBC that is designed to attract an employer with a corporate campus. Industrial warehouse are not that. With the number of companies and their employees relocating to DFW, this location is ideal for a corporate campus. The resulting salaries and increases to the tax base will be greater for a corporate campus than with these warehouses. Do not give up on the original plan!

Christopher Orr (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#240

Do not want this type of development in Rowlett, TX

Bennie Mitchell (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#243

I live close and don’t want my property values to decrease.

Cathy Pennycuff (Rowlett , 2022-01-11)

#246

I don’t want any heavy use of semi trucks wreaking havoc on our streets a lot of which are in poor shape already. I see no benefit to Rowlett in allowing this project.

Karen Whitehead (Rowlett , 2022-01-11)

#247

Warehouse will not benefit the community.

Stacy Truong (Rowlette, 2022-01-11)

#250

I live in this area and do not want this kind of development near my home.

Michelle Smith (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#253

From the information given, this appears to be a very bad zoning decision.

Patsy Thomas (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#255

I do not wish to have such a huge distribution/warehouse built in this area. Please try to acquire something other than warehouses, apartments,
or tiny homes in Rowlett. Sachse and Rockwall both seem to be able to do this. Why can’t Rowlett?

Carol Hooks (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#256

Rowlett is already too congested and quality of life is in steady decline. The city needs to focus more on its current residents instead of adding more people, more crime, and more congestion.

Dottie Lett (ROWLETT, 2022-01-11)

#257

I am moving off Merritt and Hickox because of the green space between the neighborhood and PGBT and potential light pollution completely negates why I just bought a house there. I might need to find a new house if this goes through

Ryan Tyson (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#259

I'm signing because I would hate to see a large distribution area so close to the area we will be moving to in just a few weeks. I have been a long term Garland resident and despise driving through their industrial area. The roads are always in disrepair, traffic is awful and the area in general is bad. I choose Rowlett to be our city for the next 20-30years because I have liked what they have done to revitalize the city and would hate to see this as what comes next

Cheri Crow (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#260

I DO NOT support a warehouse distribution complex on the proposed land.

John Boros (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#261

Hello,
I've lived in Rowlett for the past 23 years. My wife and I decided to move to Rowlett to start and raise our family because of the what the city offered. By bringing in this type and scale of industrialization it will forever change Rowlett. I'm not so sure we have spent the actual time to give this a legitimate account of what this will do in the long run to our great city. Bottom line if we want to change our look to be like the city of Garland then this will give us the jump start we need to get there. I for one do not want to live in Garland that's why I moved to Rowlett. I do not support this proposed rezoning.

Randy Cummings (Rowlett, 2022-01-11)

#266

I'm signing, because I am a resident in Waterview and do not want this so close to my neighborhood!

Jennifer Falldine (ROWLETT, 2022-01-12)

#268

I want new construction that will increase our tax revenue this provides very little

Joyce Sarokon (Rowlett, 2022-01-12)

#269

This will be a negative impact not only to me, but to my city as a whole. We do not want to turn our beautiful Rowlett into a warehouse district.

Deanna Glenn (Rowlett, 2022-01-12)

#271

Garland always builds unnecessary things. Leave Rowlett as is, or save it for housing or par

Andrea Rodriguez (Garland , 2022-01-12)

#272

They need to fix the traffic problems first! We already have too much pollution and traffic! How about some nice botanical gardens instead?

Jennifer House (Rowlett , 2022-01-12)

#276

We dont need this in our city...

John Massad (ROWLETT, 2022-01-12)

#277

I live in a near by city and considering a home purchase next door to Rowlett. This does concern me greatly.

Lorraine Brock (Richardson , 2022-01-12)

#278

This is another ridiculous project that we don’t need in Rowlett. A more horrendous scourge than even apartment buildings. Shame on the city for even considering this development

Bruce Brazzell (Rowlett, 2022-01-12)

#279

I vehemently oppose the industrial zoning proposal to my neighborhood. I know for a fact that my family a well as hundreds of others have moved to Rowlett for the quiet, peaceful, and family-friendly environment. We support our local economy, pay taxes, worship, and volunteer within our community. Public servants hold great power in the management of their municipalities and frankly, this is not the way to treat your citizens.

How can we grow and prosper within our city if we allow decay? We do not need to cheapen our way of life for what little tax dollars this might bring us. I’m certain that as the metroplex expands even more along our corner of the PGBT area, better businesses, clinics, restaurants, churches, condos, and homes will be our welcomed neighbors.

Instead of a half-baked warehouse district which causes light, noise, and environmental pollution, we should build something our city can be proud of. Please listen to your citizens, your constituents, your neighbors.

Sincerely,
Citizens of Rowlett, TX

Manuel Loera (Rowlett, 2022-01-12)

#280

My family moved to Rowlett because of its suburban nature, it’s family atmosphere and it’s relatively low crime.
Please do not destroy our city.

Jacob Bosse (Rowlett, 2022-01-12)

#283

I am against it

Jason Griffin (9806 Glenshee Drive, 2022-01-12)

#285

How about some modern, clean industry not more nasty warehouses?

Stephen Grossman (Wylie, TX, 2022-01-12)

#287

I do NOT want this to happen! It will not benefit the city and only cause traffic, noise and pollution. I love very close to this location and so not want this near my home.

Tina Green (Rowlett, 2022-01-12)

#291

I do not want this in Rowlett!!!!!

Robin Taylor (Rowlett , 2022-01-12)

#292

Rowlett needs to respect and value the homeowners that represent this city.

Chris Kaptain (Rowlett , 2022-01-12)

#295

I am opposed to the redone for warehouse/ distribution. I live in the area and am opposed to this.

Dan Strader (Rowlett, 2022-01-13)

#300

I am opposed to this rezo I g. I am just moving to this neighborhood and didn’t see a warehouse district when I went there to purchase. I don’t want to live in one mow. I don’t want to love myself met n my property value as this is all that I have.

Carla Brandt (Rowlett , 2022-01-13)

#301

I love my city Rowlett!

Christopher Wright (Rowlett , 2022-01-13)

#302

Rowlett is a beautiful city. It is not meant for this type of development. Don’t bring down the value of the community.

Anais Cruz (Garland, 2022-01-13)

#306

We don’t need anymore congestion in what was once a small happy safe environment

Angel Sperling (Rowlett, 2022-01-13)

#313

This is not the best area for this project and devalues our properties that will never recovery.
Noise and pollutions and damage to our service roads and streets at this location.

Stuart Duncan (ROWLETT, 2022-01-14)

#314

I do not support the distribution district.

Julie Mora (Rowlett , 2022-01-14)

#316

Traffic there is already so bad don't need 18 wheelers.

Amber Hendrickson (Rowlett, 2022-01-14)

#320

I am against building a warehouse at the corner of liberty grove and PGB. The traffic at this location is already difficult and adding extra trucks and employee traffic will make it absolutely impossible for local residents to use liberty grove as an access point to their homes.

Kaylyn Mahoney (Rowlett , 2022-01-14)

#324

We don't need this. We don't need to turn this into Dallas anymore than we already have.

Valerie Gilbert (Rowlett, 2022-01-14)

#325

I live in the Waterview subdivision and traffic in the morning and evening is already a nightmare. This would be terrible and bring down home area values due to the business and it's location.

Jayne Martin (Rowlett , 2022-01-14)

#328

I agree with this petition. We moved to this area to have a quieter forever home environment than the hustle and bustle of Garland. There has to be a better way to rezone that area to avoid warehouse/distribution zoning and build-out. Look at the Hutchins example. FedEx and several others are there. Crime and panhandling increased, pollution, lower home values. It’s not worth it!

AMera Frieman (Rowlett, 2022-01-15)

#330

I don’t want this type of business built so close to my house

Darrell Ford (Rowlett, 2022-01-15)

#331

I don’t want the traffic, noise or lights of a distribution center near my home.

Jennifer Ford (Rowlett, 2022-01-15)

#334

This will not benefit our community!

Mary Matallana (Rowlett,, 2022-01-15)

#335

I live in Waterview and I am against building a warehouse at Liberty Grove and PGBT!

#337

I’m signing because I don’t see how this project can help me as a citizen of Rowlett. Only the negative affects it will have on our town.

Josh Koole (Rowlett, 2022-01-15)

#338

This would ruin the neighborhood

Cade Holmes (Rowlett, 2022-01-16)

#341

I'm opposed to a distribution hub because of the traffic, pollution and type of land use proposed. Too many homes are located in the area for that type of use. Liberty Grove is already bumper to bumper during rush hour. Either a residential use or a use that would result in less truck traffic and a higher density of higher paying jobs should be sought.

Brian Lorenc (Rowlett, 2022-01-17)

#343

I live in Waterview I want that this zone remains residential not industrial that will affect negatively the harmonie, homes value and transit on these neighborhoods.

Mauricio Gomez (Rowlett , 2022-01-17)

#344

I live in the area and would like to preserve the neighborhood

Kristen Lopez (Rowlett, 2022-01-17)

#348

I am signing to preserve the value of our home and environment. We need to protect our water supply and natural beauty of our community.

Madeline McEwen (Rowlett, 2022-01-19)

#351

I do not want increased traffic congestion in Rowlett, additional light pollution, and would hate for our property values to decrease.

Erin Behunin (Rowlett, 2022-01-20)

#352

I feel this proposal will add nothing but trouble to the Rowlett community. It will add congestion, noise, and little tax benefits!

Neil Glenn (Rowlett, 2022-01-21)

#355

Because I don’t want this to drive the area down. We are are already seeing increased homeless and lower class people. Also this will increase traffic and drive down home prices.

ryan haas (Garland, 2022-01-25)

#357

I have a home in this area. This would destroy the neighborhood environment with commercial traffic and property values would plummet.

Patricia Townsend (Rowlett, 2022-01-28)

#358

I live in the area and am also worried this may lead to another highway being constructed in the area.

Julie Richart (Rowlett, 2022-01-29)

#359

I'm signing because I don't feel a warehouse distribution site is the right addition to this area.

Donna Walker (Rowlett, 2022-01-30)

#361

As a home owner in The Homestead at Liberty Grove, strongly disapprove of this commercial construction. My backyard overlooks the proposed development. I did not buy this house to have warehouse space and tractor trailers in my backyard.

Beau Trujillo (Rowlett, 2022-02-17)

#364

I’m signing because I live on Old Merritt Road and do not want to live next door to a industrial/warehouse district because of the noise, traffic, and light pollution this will cause for my home.

Beverly Thompson (Rowlett TX, 2022-02-19)

#366

I don't want this encroaching on our neighborhood
