I’m not getting my child up at 530am to go to school. What a joke

Joelle C Elliott (Flinders, 2022-02-10)

I don’t believe any child should have to start school that early it’s hard enough to get the kids there by 9 some mornings.

Janice Dixon (Albion Park, 2022-02-10)

#207

I don't believe there is any reason to change this hours.

Soraia James (Muswellbrook , 2022-02-10)

I’m signing as it would be unmanageable with my young school aged son and after school care.

Richard Hart (Wollongong , 2022-02-10)

#210

I'm signing because it isn't practical

Christine Carpenter (Albion Park, 2022-02-10)

#213

This will in no way help out families. It makes things worse for the family

This idea of changing school times is about as myopic as the premiers prescription glasses - very short sighted. If you want to change times that benefits the community, change retail shopping hours to open at 10am, rather than opening the same time as school starts at 9am.This will provide a more evenly spread of traffic around schools and shopping centres.

I'm signing this petition because I do not agree with the 7am school starts, having 3 kids and try to get them out of the house by 6.30 is going to be impossible for me.

The children have had too many interruptions, this is not a suitable option for stability at school. While there is before and after school care, we already have an option

Sue H (Enfield , 2022-02-11)

#232

Keep traditional school hours. They are more practical.

Rathi Sahai (Strathfield, 2022-02-11)

#233

Leave hours as they are

Mim Har (Sydney , 2022-02-11)

It doesn’t work for working parents!!

Danielle Castle (Calderwood, 2022-02-11)

9am-3pm is perfect school hours, especially for working parents. If the hours are too early and too long for the children they won't have that concentration or attention span to keep up. This also would disrupt older kids having to be baby sat until their parents come home from work. No reason to change the times as it has been the norm. That everyone has adjusted to for many many years.

I am an aged grandmother with an teenager granddaughter. She doesn’t want to go to school that early. And I for one don’t want to get up at 4am to take her to school

I can’t see how this change is beneficial for children here in Australia . It’s hard enough getting them to bed by 7.30 during daylight saving let alone 6.30 for a 7 am start. And when would they see their parents as most parents are at work till 5

Think about rural kids that get on buses early now, the risks involved of getting on buses in the dark come winter time.

Jo-Anne Caswell (Gulgong, 2022-02-11)

#250

Not everyone has the luxury to finish work early and spend more money on after school hours at this rate I can never work with 2 kids

Jessica Gauci (Albion park , 2022-02-11)

#253

I don’t agree with the hour changes. Keep it the same.

Shaimaa Abdelrazek (Sydney, 2022-02-11)

7-1 is crazy.

Christopher Barton (Albion Park, 2022-02-12)

#261

This won’t work in our house hold

Jessica Nieborak (Towradgi, 2022-02-12)

#262

I believe 9am to 3pm has worked for many years not only for Children but for parents as well stop trying to change something that has worked for years

Emily Salis (Shellharbour , 2022-02-12)

If this can happen then workers to will want same hours or not much different ones. How on earth are parents going to manage theses new hours at school? Not everyone has a parliament job and a stay at home mother!

This fool wants us to go back to work in the CBD, yet wants us to pick up our kids from school at 1pm! Totally out of touch with reality. Resign #domicron

I do not agree the time

Hyejeong Kim (Strathfield , 2022-02-14)

It’s a ******* joke.

I’m an educator and the proposed hours are ridiculous

Dal Ouba (Sydney , 2022-02-17)

#283

I don't want it to change

Allyson Sunderland (Horsley, 2022-02-25)

Children do not need to spend more time in the classroom. It is a move to benefit parents, not children. Teachers are cheaper than child care so it is a financial move for the government and the children are paying the price.

In my opinion, the NSW Government has overreached too far throughout the pandemic & now it's causing community chaos. How are working parents meant to cope? How are families with children at different schools (High School, Primary &/or Kindergarten) meant to cope with a dog's breakfast of start & finish times. Get real - there are REAL ISSUES that require Government intervention - and it's NOT THIS.

Sandy Orme (Flagstaff Hill, 2022-03-03)

This - reconfigure school hours - shouldn’t even be considered. Perhaps the ‘traditional system’ could be altered, but not the hours.
