There’s no downside to having better library facilities!

Deborah Djuric (New Bern , 2022-06-23)

The technology of the 21st century makes a world of information available to all who have access. Our current library is too small to serve the needs of all Craven Co. citizens. To meet the future of the Information Age we need to expand access to a world of knowledge in a 21st century library.

Libbie Griffin (New Bern, 2022-06-24)

#606

I'm signing because I support this request.

Bob Dumon (New Bern, NC, 2022-06-24)

#607

The current library doesn’t meet the needs of our diverse growing population. It needs access to and/or expansion of foreign language collections, in particular those spoken by international residents.

Maria Fraser-Molina (New Bern , 2022-06-24)

#608

I agree with statement set out in the petition. I love our library but it does need more space in order to optimally serve the growing community..

Barbara Meredith (New Bern, 2022-06-24)

#610

This area needs a larger library. So many programs occur at the library and more space would be utilized to the betterment of the area

Cathy Lane (NEW BERN, 2022-06-24)

#611

I believe access to reading materials is a necessity.

Maureen Mongan (New Bern, 2022-06-25)

Every thriving community has a great library system behind it. They provide valuable services to all people. Library's have been foundational to civilizations throughout time. They have been an integral institution throughout our country's history and will continue to be for future generations.

Ben Whitford (New Bern, 2022-06-25)

This would make the city of New Bern a brighter gem in the community. This would encourage more positivity among all personalities and nationalities.

Tracie Cannon (New Bern, 2022-06-26)

#616

A library that meets the needs of the growing population is needed .

Marsha Earp (Vanceboro , 2022-06-26)

#620

I believe library’s are important to improve our knowledge of the world around us.

Stephen Durci (Trent Woods , 2022-06-26)

#621

I would love to see New Bern have two branches, keeping the downtown and expanding to a larger location. Perhaps the old Harris teeter could be used?

Jenna Cusumano (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

#622

The current Library has served us well. But it's past time to improve its size, features and location.

Roy Smith Jr (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

#623

I agree with the goals of the petition.

Andrew Garlick (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

#624

We need a modern library

chris snyder (new bern, 2022-06-27)

#625

The library has great staff and historical resources but a terrible facility. Larger, better lit reading rooms would encourage use, and a new air circulation system is necessary to deal with possible pandemics. Libraries add value to the community, and our patrons require it. Invest in New Bern and Craven County!

Linda Monk (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

#626

I know how much a library means to a community having served on a library board in another city. A library serves everyone but especially those people without easy access to the internet, books, information, and so many other services.

Don Schroeder (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

#630

It's restricted in what they can offer due to limited size. The parking lot is also too small.

Paul Plagge (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

#633

I believe libtaries are a vital part of any community and enjoy all they provide.

Valerie Wilk (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

#635

I agree with the statement

linda nooney (New Bern, 2022-06-27)

As a former Director of CPC Regional Library for 16 years, I am well aware of the need for a new library for the City of New Bern and it is many years overdue. I fully support this petition.

Jackie Beach (New Bern, 2022-06-28)

#639

Amazing library staff but they need access to updated space and resources to be able to fully meet the needs of our growing community

Cristy Warner (Ernul, 2022-06-28)

To advance equtiable educational opportunities for ALL citizens of New Bern!

Maria Cho (New Bern, 2022-06-29)

#685

Libraries are proof that we want an educated population.

Emily Henson (New Bern, 2022-06-29)

#690

The library should be more easily accessible to those without vehicles and have more computers available for lower income residents. It should be larger and have more meeting rooms.

Mickey Miller (New Bern , 2022-07-02)

#692

Need a new, updated library, we can be proud of!! Thanks for all the memories of the current one!

Ralph Cullom (New Bern , 2022-07-29)

I’m signing because libraries are more than just books. They are a portal to other worlds, including a way out of poverty. The libraries provide a measurable economic and social benefit to a community that can reach down through generations.

Marie Mynster (New Bern, 2022-07-29)

#694

Libraries promote literacy of all types through each stage of a person's life. Likewise, communities need adequate libraries to flourish. New Bern has outgrown its library and needs individual and civic body support to retain and then to expand the multitude of possibilities a library offers.

Suzanne Kaylor (New Bern, 2022-08-03)

#697

Diffently need a bigger better library for this century, the current library that I used back in the late 60's to early 70's was inadequate at that time, so yes build new so more people could use, would like to see around Middle Street and Broad street area would be nice.

Tim Pinkham (New Bern, 2022-08-06)

#698

New Bern needs a bigger more modern library.

Diana Wittmeyer (New Bern, 2022-08-11)

#700

I’m signing because the library was such a magical place for me growing up and still is!

Rachel Hough (New Bern, 2022-08-20)

#701

I’d love to see the library expand so they can offer more books, especially more large print books, and modernize where necessary.

Jane Powell (New+Bern, 2022-08-23)

I love libraries and have always hoped the one in New Bern would get a makeover to make it more inviting and exciting in a new modern way. It needs to be brighter, fresher and have bigger spaces so people can go there and enjoy a modern environment to meet, read, and learn. I want to be excited to go there. :)
