Canaryville residents say NO to a ZONING CHANGE at 4746 S. Union

There are too many bad landlords in Canaryville and throughout the city of Chicago. If you own a property you have pride in it and not do it just for the money. Most don’t live in the neighborhood where they have property and don’t care what goes in there. They only show up once something happens. We don’t need them or want them

I oppose this building being re-zoned

This is a problem building. Another landlord that doesn’t live just trying to make money. This was a single family home

I have family and friends that live near 47th and Union and am aware of the problems with some of the area residents and absentee landlords.

I do not agree to change the zoning. There are already to many rental properties in the neighborhood.

That's our neighborhood it shouldn't change

This is a problem building currently and rezoning it would make matters worse. My daughter and her family live down the block and she is afraid to let her children walk past this building.

I’ve lived here for 70 years and we don’t need outsiders coming in my neighborhood trying to change the laws for their benefit .

This is a problem building and an illegal conversion. There is no rational reason for granting sc zoning change unless someone is getting paid off.

I live on a block that already has issues with absentee landlords. We do not need anymore in our neighborhood. They don’t live here so they don’t care about our community.

This building should never, ever be considered for rezoning. I suspect a political payoff here. If this zoning change is rammed thru there will be intense scrutiny of the current alderwomans campaign contributors.

Christopher Martin (chicago, 2022-08-13)
