The Concerned Citizens of Halifax County DEMAND our Schools open for on location learning and begin athletic programs

There are nefarious, local, state and national political forces attempting to keep Halifax County schools closed and not allow athletics, all based upon emotions and without supportive facts that withstand scrutiny and valid questioning.  

While other local cities, counties in Virginia and in North Carolina have opened schools, Halifax County continues to stay closed, only allowing online instruction. 

Reports are coming in that remote learning is not doing as well as the hoped. Some speculate many are failing. Almost all, outside of South Bostons and Town of Halifax, lack decent internet connections. Children often do not have a way to get to wireless hotspots due to parents working. 

There is rumor Halifax County will not open schools for 2020. The politically driven bad actors are neglecting our children's emotional well being for a virus with a 99.6% survival rate. 

These political forces are attempting to promote and continue unlawful business and school closings for political gains. These charlataans will stop at nothing to use fear and ignore basic facts that support reopening schools. Despite mountians of evidence that cheap cloth and paper masks, most are often dirty and reused, cannot stop covid and actually increase risk of covid by a weakening the wearer's immune system, they continue to promote fear and hysteria versus acknowledging that school age children have immune system capable of fighting illness and building immunity.

Consider that with all the flu vaccines they still cannot stop the flu. 

We, the citizens of Halifax County, demand that schools reopen immediately and school athletics be returned to normal.

We will not accept, nor allow our children to be emotionally scarred by a virus with a 99.6% survival rate.

For those parents who do not want their child to return to on location school learning they can continue to keep their children at home and take online courses.
