URGENT PETITION FOR THE CONDUCT OF A VALID, HONEST AND TRANSPARENT ELECTION OF NEW PPF BOARD OF TRUSTEES WITH PROPORTIONATE AND FAIR REPRESENTATION OF PPF MEMBERS NATIONWIDE
We, the undersigned PhilHealth employees and co-owners of the PhilHealth Provident Fund (PPF), come together to express our concerns regarding recent developments surrounding the PPF Board of Trustees. In light of the recent election process outlined in OPCEO Memorandum No. 2024-054, we seek clarity and transparency to address the following points:
Upholding Member Representation
As contributors to the fund, we value proper and proportional representation on the PPF Board of Trustees. We ratified PPF Board Resolution No. 02, s. 2021, which accounts for fifty-three percent (53%) of the total membership, as a means to ensure that the PPF Board fulfills its mandate to safeguard and enhance the fund for all members.
Concerns over Election Process
The recent election, with only 23% member participation, has raised questions about the legitimacy of the newly elected Board of Trustees. We urge a thorough examination of the election process to ensure that the voices and insights of PPF members are accurately reflected in board decisions.
Clarity on Legal Cases and Re-election
We seek clear explanations regarding the status of legal cases involving re-elected officers who faced complaints for irregularities in managing the PPF from CY 2015-2020. It is essential to understand whether their re-election implies resolution of the charges against them to maintain trust in the governance of the Provident Fund.
In conclusion, we express our collective disapproval of any actions that undermine the independence and integrity of the PPF Board. We call for open dialogue, transparency, and accountability to address these pressing issues and uphold the interests of all PhilHealth Provident Fund members.
With a sense of urgency and commitment to fostering a harmonious and effective governance structure, we affix our signatures to this petition.
