Action to be taken against Communes / Illegal Buildings throughout Klopper Park

Throughout Klopper Park, backyard dwellings are being built and rooms within residential properties are being sub-divided without either approved building plans or densification application. Despite reporting these contraventions to the building inspectorate, no feedback has been provided from either the building inspectorate or legal department on the progress being made in terms of Splum Bylaws to end these contraventions and/or apply relevant penalties as prescribed. Thus we the undersigned hereby demand, as a matter of urgency, petition the City Planning, and the MMC for Corporate & Shared Services, to provide monthly progress reports on each reported contravention together with timelines as applicable with regard to enforcement of City Planning Splum By laws. These communes are causing a huge influx of people in the area, as a result of this we have to deal with overcrowding in the area. An estimate amount of people that occupy a property can be between 20 to 50 people. This overcrowding is causing adults loiter on the streets and kids to play on the road.

Illegal Buildings has also put a huge strain on Electricity and water sanitation in the area.
