COMMUNITY PETITION FOR THE GRANTING OF BAIL

RE: DANE RANGASAMY

We, the undersigned, hereby respectfully petition this Honourable Court to grant bail to our fellow resident, Dane Rangasamy.

1. Community Outcry for Release:

   Dane Rangasamy has been incarcerated for nearly two years. His prolonged detention has caused significant distress and concern among us, the members of the Port Shepstone community, who know him as an upstanding citizen and community hero.

2. Presumption of Innocence:

   Dane Rangasamy is presumed innocent until proven guilty, a fundamental principle of our justice system. His release on bail would align with this principle, ensuring he has the opportunity to prepare his defense adequately.

3. Not a Flight Risk:

   - **No Passport:* Dane Rangasamy does not possess a passport, eliminating the risk of him fleeing the country.

   - **Permanent Residential Address:** He has a long-standing permanent residence within our community, further demonstrating his ties and commitment to the area.

   - **No Prior Criminal Record:** Dane Rangasamy has no prior run-ins with the law, reinforcing his reputation as a law-abiding citizen.

4. Willingness to Stand Trial:

   Dane Rangasamy has expressed his willingness to stand trial and face the charges against him. His continued desire to remain in Port Shepstone assures us of his intention to comply with all court proceedings.

5. Community Support:

   The residents of Port Shepstone fully support Dane Rangasamy. We believe in his integrity and character. His release on bail would not only be fair but would also restore faith in the justice system among our community members.

We, the undersigned, therefore, humbly request this Honourable Court to grant bail to Dane Rangasamy, subject to any conditions deemed appropriate by the Court.
