Grief Over Gravesite Rules - Eternal Valley & Dignity Memorial

Signing this petition will represent the voice of a loved one the world has sadly lost and speak up for them regarding what Eternal Valley in Newhall, California is depriving them and their families of at their final resting place in Eternal Valley. Loved ones should be resting in peace but instead their gravesites are being subjected to more grief, no dignity, no compassion by revised policies going into effect on 3/10/25. Families were notified that they will be no longer be allowed to place cemetery solar lights or momentos of any kind - only artificial (at cremation gardens) or fresh flowers (in main gardens) and that this revised goverened policy will be enforced on a DAILY basis.

Losing a loved one is beyond traumatic, heartbreaking and we find ourselves filled with emotions of overwhelming grief and sadness which is heightened in the many months and years that follow. Many find comfort thereafter navigating through our grief by spending time and visiting often at our loved one's final resting place. Connecting in solace, bringing loved ones momentos, solar lights, decorating for a holiday,  bringing flowers or simply sitting at their gravesite reflecting our love in their memory.

Unfortunately, we need your help by signing this petition in rebuttal to Eternal Valley Memorial Park, a subsidiary of Dignity Memorial and SCI CORP in Newhall, California and their most recently, once again, revised "flower" policy.

Currently, they take and literally toss away, damage, or break EVERYTHING including momentos you leave for your loved one every week (Thursday) with total disregard and disrespect including solar lights, American Flags (which do not cause unsightly conditions like wilted flowers). Solar lights actually represent to many twinkles of love for all to see when visiting the cemetery. Those who visit will agree it visually brings an unspoken connection of compassion between many visitors, ones you most likely do not even know - and most times, without saying a word receive that much needed - "my loved one is here too", "I'm showing them love too", "I hurt too" to the grieving and most importantly, to show our love, respect and honor to those we have lost and without restricted uniformity.  But in ways WE KNOW symbolizes and resonates with our loved one. They deserve to be honored - only having 1 choice to honor our loved ones is not honor - its undue duress and abuse of power and control by (according to sources) the general manager at the cemetery.

Allowing Eternal Valley to enforce this new restrictive policy prohibiting any battery operated/cemetery solar lights or any momento WHATSOEVER (i.e., an American flag for a veteran, teddy bear or photo for a youth, etc.) but ONLY fresh flowers in an approved vase by the cemetery must be disputed. We endured months and months of brown, dying grass, shrubs and unwatered grounds due to the cemetery having NO water and now this! What has been going on there is a disgrace!

Please sign the petition for all of the loved ones there unable to voice their disappointment and their families against this overly restrictive policy going into effect 3/10/2025.
