Specialist Disability Housing (SDA) to occur on Windamere Park Land

Dear valued Windamere Park Supporter,

This is a Petition to be presented to the Hon. Minister for Planning Vicky Chapman, seeking her support to allow individually-titled Specialist Disability Housing (SDA) to occur on Windamere Land at 493 Carmelo Road, Buckland Park 5120 SA.

This Petition was suggested by, and has the full support of the Elected Members of the Playford Council.

Although approval of 15 SDA houses had been granted by the SA Government's Planning Dept, the Chairperson for the State Planning Commission is not supportive and will only agree to 15 houses without individual titles.

This will stop any possibility for parents/guardians of our participants to share in this unique opportunity for the provision of an integrated set of affordable housing for their disabled sons and daughters; those in critical need for such housing.
At last count, well over 9,000 persons Australia-wide are inappropriately placed in boarding homes, hospitals, motels and such, or are being cared for by their ageing parents, often themselves increasingly in need of palliative care and support.

Your signatures and those of your family, friends, work colleagues, etc, would be enormously beneficial when our request is presented to the Minister for Planning the Hon. Vicky Chapman to seek her support for this most socially enhancing Project.
