Stop the closure of Trelleborg - Sassnitz Route.

Trelleborg,_Sassnitz.jpg

The closure of the Sassnitz - Trelleborg ferry line is evidence of shortcomings in the economy and transport policy in recent years. The importance of tourism and economy on the island of Rügen and the district of Vorpommern-Rügen is enormous.

The fact that the ferry connection was no longer lucrative for the shipping company Stena Line as an economic development and from this point of view the line's task is understandable.

But the political failures mentioned are not understandable. On the one hand, the national road 96 is expanded in a large project and on the other, it cuts further by its connection to the island of Rügen

In the situation of the ferry line, there must be subsidy models that ensure the operation, future and development of the ferry connection. For this purpose, direct subsidies to the operator must be available, a possible purchase of the vessel and then operation of a shipowner or further development of subsidy models must be negotiated and decided immediately.

The Royal Line is a ferry line with potential, which it has not been able to show in recent years due to fewer departures and fewer vessels. State aid will help activate this potential. Failure to do so further weakens northeastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. We, all citizens of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, must prevent this. In any case, the connection must be restored.

Cause
So, anyone who is against all loss of jobs (operators) and livelihood (tourism dependent), potential loss (an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 passengers per year) and to preserve the friendship of the island with Sweden, please support this collection. The time is short!
