I am a physiotherapist suffering the ' I cant get anywhere on this salary' syndrome. I also feel its pointless to get masters etc since its of no benefit to me

This is long overdue! Physiotherapists have for too long been underpaid and this has resulted in the other health professionals who earn more money than us thinking that they are better qualified. Physiotherapists are not suddenly demanding to be overpaid, we are simply demanding to be paid the equivalent of what other health professionals earn whose qualifications equal ours. For too many decades the authorities have perpetually unpaid and not made posts available because they have abused the patient -centred quality treatment approach which Physiotherapists hold so dear. This petition is fair and just and therefore I have signed it. May God's will be done.

As a Physiotherapist I am also concerned about what is happening even to review OSD for Physiotherapists we still discriminated it will take ten years for a Physiotherapist to move from grade one to a new grade

Because I understand everything that has been written and physiotherapy is indeed being undermined and under-rated if not recognised

Physics are hard working people that struggled through university in order to get qualified. They should be payed accordingly

My ex was a physio. She seemed to be more committed to physiotherapy than me. I think that needs to be rewarded with the same kind of commitment.

I work in government and have done so for 8 years. During this time i have completed many further trainings, including OMT, none of which have been recognised or rewarded by my employer. I am the most senior in the rehab department; expected to do managerial tasks, but not allowed to attend management workshops or trainings, and i am not recognised or remunerated for my efforts; in fact, i am still a grade 1 therapist, just like the people i am "in charge" of.

I almost felt like there is no future for Physiotherapy in South Africa. Matters being discussed in the article they speak to my heart and the pain we feel everyday as Physios. We are here to help patients but we still need to put food on the table.

Everyone should be treated fairly and every industry should have rights to proper pay no matter what field they're in.

I strongly agree with content of petition. We are a profession that works very hard and has nothing to show for it. I qualified in the year 2007 now its 2015 but am still at production level salary wise. We work very hard, we the one profession that spends most time with patient. We spend more than an hour with just one patient. Recognition is not asking much. Thank You. Amandla!!!!
