Crewe Alex Girls petition, they are all devastated and could face 100 mile round trips to trial at Everton, Liverpool and Man United. We've sent your petition link to all our parents. Give all the girls their opportunities to play football.

#39: - Girls v Boys

How can they just say because of the standard and then make blanket decisions to close one of the better ones!

Watford are highly commended for the work they do with boys football and yet they are now not able to follow their work with the girls, pure legalised discrimination!!  Outrageous.

The closure of the centre of excellence, also affects Charlton girls as well, seems they just dont like some clubs!  Nothing at all to do with standards!

The North East has no centres now, girls in Cumbria have nowhere to play. Shouldn't all the closed centres act together to fight the FA and their new struture. Girls across the country must be devastated at the loss of their clubs and their footballing futures!

Fully agree, which is why I've just signed the Crewe Alex petition.

I do believe some of the Southern clubs e.g. Reading and Watford are talking to each other about this and the best way forward. Hopefully this can grow into a national campaign.

Here's hoping Graham Taylor will be able to help spearhead something.

Fingers crossed, we need work for all girls, all clubs across the country. They can fob us off individually but united we are stronger

Get your act together FA. You're not as bad as FIFA, but you're not well regarded by most British Football fans because of continued faux pas like this.

The FA are a complete bunch of arses.
I think the clue is in the name FA!

Teenage girls need a focus for fitness and friendship or obesity will cascade down the generations.

From reading the comments from other clubs it seems that some kind of organised protest is required. It is clear that the FA have made the wrong decision. How can talented girls be left with no club at all.

Its ridiculous how they are closing watford academy. They are on of the best girls centre of excellences in the country. The reason in which they are closing is due to arsenal being a club from london basing themselves in the hertfordshire area this isn't fair. It also isn't fair that boys clubs get more funding. I don't see any boys academys being shut down!

The FA have some nerve, moan about FIFA being corrupt, making bad decissions and being run by dinosaurs. Well the FA should look hard at themselves because they are exactly the same.
Maybe we should vote them all out the inept fools!!!!

As the mother of a girl who has played for Crewe for 2 years and also trained as an under 8 for a year, I totally understand how upset and angry you are. We need to make the FA see that we won't just roll over and accept what they are doing to our children.

If only we could vote them out. Despite it being the people's game, these idiots are not accountable to anyone.

It is time for the government to act to curb their powers and make them truly accountable for their actions.

Ladies footbal in Great Britain needs as much support as possible, the closing of such a successful centre of excellence shows a real lack of vision by the FA, it wouldnt happen in Scotland, and they dont have the revenue the FA have.

We have to support women in sports! Women's sports might not make the kind of money that men's sports do, but they provide such an important message to our girls - You can do anything you want to do ladies! Is the FA trying to send the message that this is not the case?! Bad call!
