I'm a "Formerly Incarcerated Individual" who is desperate for a change.

Because I am a felon that cannot get a job back in my 20yr profession or as a minimum wage gas station cashier because of the stigma that follows me when ever a background check is performed. I cannot vote yet I am still mandated to pay taxes.

Thanks So much for your comment, The oppression of Criminal history is worst than the civil rights movement almost. It destroys the lives of more than just one race age, or gender. There's no redeeming yourself after you've established a criminal history. You're still serving time after incarceration!!! It's called " Civil Death " when your rights have been taken and you are prohibited from participating in society 100% as a Citizen. Something has to be done!!!

I believe once a person has repaid their debt to society they deserve an equal fair chance

I went from juvenile, jail , then prison. I left Michigan because there was no help for a convicted felon. I had to leave my 4yr. Old son behind . I am now pursuing my bachelors degree in biblical studies, working on home ownership. Active in the church and the community I have my son back and another. I resign in Sandy Springs GA. where I was giving another chance. I have to give a shot out to the Women Empowerment Organization's that invested their love and time into me. Mary Hall Freedom House and Every Woman Works.

I have a friend who was 20 and had sexual relations with a girl who was 17. She lied about her age and turned around and accused him of rape. He spent 3.5 years in jail. That was 30 years ago and it has ruined his life. There should be a way to get that expunged from his record, but I have no idea how to help him.If you could she'd any light to his situation, I would love to help him. Thanks.
