We need something more to be done about the bullying at our schools. It has reached epic proportions and it has to stop!

Enough is enough...I don't mean to blame the teachers but they should be keeping an eye on the children and informing the bullies' parents. Not enough is being DONE!!!!

Here is the link to the new anti-bullying group formed by concerned families in Western Australia who would like to find solutions to this outdated and uncivilised problem... once and for all changing the face of the issue of bullying and harassment. https://www.facebook.com/groups/212028048974079/

I believe that we should bring back police liaison officers at all schools to help prevent & deal with bullying

#7 THis is NOT a petition to hand all responsibility to police!!!

Before some of you miss the point of the petition, just remember... this is just ONE part of MANY things which concerned people are hoping to put into motion. Many of these incidences of bullying are turning into ASSAULT, sadly, that IS a legal and police matter. The point of liaison is so there is interaction BETWEEN everyone, parents, teachers, school, bully, victim... which includes the law. We're not talking just hair pulling, some of these kids are facing attacks that are vicious, degrading and more often than not extend into their homes and private lives via technology. Odd that when a kid takes their life from harassment we instantly turn the police to deal with it... let's get in BEFORE that happens. At least TRY. You're more than welcome to volunteer your skills or knowledge. Some people are mistaking this petition with "Let's just hand it on to police", to hand over responsibility to a section of the public service already stretched to the limit would be counterproductive. That's not what this is about. It's about police also LEARNING, being less distant to the community (let's face it, most people see them as someone to take care of just about everything) but in particular, helping kids become aware that these actions are against the law and wrong. The police are also part of the "community". We could just blame it all on "society" and leave it at that. Then again... aren't WE society? :)
