Yes, the Slate redesign is terrible.

I want time and date stamps and an edit function and to see people's names as liking a comment rather than having to click on the icon. The other system was more social, easier and less time consuming.

#1: - Baffling, befuddling and bewildering is what the new Slate is. I'm not sure I'll be around as much.

I completely agree. The new system is crap.

I think many people don't know how to access-- read or write-- comments with the new system. It seems like there is a vast fall-off in the numbers of comments. Not what you want if you want people to stay on the site.

I hate not being able to review the article while I read comments. I don't like the new format in general. It's harder to find the articles I'm looking for.

God I HATE the new comments format? Which summer skintern had this bright idea?

#8 Comments don't work on Android

I flat out can't even get the comments to load on my Android tablet. My browser just sits there on the "loading comments please wait page" but no matter how long I wait the comments never come.

Never works on mobile phones.

I believe Slate deliberately won't load comments of some who criticize their articles. I am honestly not paranoid about this, but since the Washington Post put their thumb down on them, they can't take criticism. Or it could be because the site is run by republican scum, which is most likely.
